Jean Paul, eigentlich Johann Paul Friedrich Richter (1763-1825), gilt als einzigartige Gestalt der deutschen Literaturgeschichte. Sein umfassendes Werk bildet einen Gegenentwurf zur Weimarer Klassik wie zu den Romantikern. Bis heute gilt er zahlreichen Schriftstellern und Künstlern als Inspirationsquelle wie Vorbild.Der 250. Geburtstag von Jean Paul im März 2013 bildete den Anlass für die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek und die Bayerische Sparkassenstiftung, diesen Autor auf neue Weise zu präsentieren. Kooperationpartner waren das Verbundprojekt Jean-Paul-Weg in Oberfranken und der Verein Jean Paul 2013.
Die App bietet eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten, Jean Paul zu entdecken und sich näher mit ihm zu beschäftigen.
