2 ★You must watch 4 ads (every few minutes) and often during the 4th ad , it will freeze Must close and restart show Also shows the same 4 ads over and over (tedious if you are watching many episodes)
1 ★When streaming to my TV, the feed will freeze, loop, or just cut out entirely everytime I used it. For life in the digital age, this is pretty sad and pathetic.
1 ★Freezes halfway through a show (always during commercials) and then won't restart where you left off. Android app on phone won't let you turn captions on. You press the screen and you can see the buttons for a split second but there's no way to hit the button. So many good shows and movies but the features are awful.
3 ★it hasn't saved my 'view history', so once you start an episode, you can't stop without loosing your spot. the screen only flips one way! and ads suck, obvs. otherwise the app seems fine. (June, 2021)
1 ★Please hire someone that can write an app and test it properly!. I have been paying for the premium version for at least a year. Constant problems. the latest version constantly throws you out and gives "reload" messages, audio looses sync - not by a few seconds but so out of sync that on occasions the audio from a previous news segment is playing. Again, exit and reload. Selected item such as News World should highlight better so it is obvious to user that a choice was actually made. Make close caption on/off easy to find, update the tiles so it shows was is currently playing, Provide the ability to add a favorite list or recently watched list so the user does not have to hunt/scroll or search for the program again. Make the last watched series segment/episode reliable so user does not have to remember. For a paid app provided by a national organization, this product is very sub standard and poor performing. This app has the same issues whether it is the android or amazon version.
1 ★Worked great at first, but not when i watch Mr D sitcom some episodes dont load or play, some start then stop and get and error message, some start and just play the commercials and then error message
1 ★Uggghhh, I just removed another star because the app jams constantly!! I'd love to subscribe and start paying for premium options since this app has some great content but, it freezes constantly, often to the point I have to turn off and on my TV. I've tried all of the reboots and nothing seems to work. I see other similar reviews so I think CBC really needs to step up and fix these issues, otherwise you're losing alot of potential customers.....why aren't you doing something about this??
1 ★After reading the reviews, coupled with my own personal problems with this, there must be an over zealous ignorant app developer working at cbc who really believes this app is as great as it can be. Come on cbc, fix the issues, listen to your customers.
1 ★It would be a lot better if the programs were not interrupted with buffering.The commercials don't have this problem.
3 ★Its ok. The more often you watch, the more ads you see. Obviously some restrictions with the free version, like locked episodes. Not very user friendly.
2 ★It's unbelievable that this app does not offer a watchlist or a "contine watching" feature. In spite of the tons of good material, it's barely usable.
2 ★The app works well on the phone. Nicely designed Gui and all that. However, I use this app primarily to stream to my TV via a Chromecast. There is some sort of software issue with GEM that makes the Chromecast crash, regularly, about 20min into casting. I am not the only one with this problem. The GEM team knows about this issue. This has been a problem for months. My Chromecast works absolutely fine. It's a newer model that I also use to stream YT and high bitrate live Sports.
