O festival tem como objetivo incentivar e aumentar o movimento do público nos bares e restaurantes da cidade, além de despertar o gosto pela gastronomia e tornar a cidade uma referência regional em entretenimento.A terceira edição do evento acontece entre os dias 13 e 29 de março, em São João da Boa Vista. Nesse período, dezesseis casas da cidade - entre elas restaurantes, bares, hamburguerias e pizzarias - desenvolvem receitas inéditas para o evento. Os estabelecimentos ficam livres para criar seus sanduíches, seguindo apenas uma regra: os preços não podem ultrapassar R$ 29,90.
Nesta edição, o evento contará com uma novidade: a cada Sanduba do festival vendido, R$ 1,00 do valor será revertido para a Santa Casa de Misericórdia Carolina Malheiros. Essa ação é uma iniciativa dos empresários participantes do festival, e visa ampliar as formas de atuação social desses estabelecimentos e apoiar de forma fundamental uma entidade que tanto necessita.
O Sanduba São João é organizado pela Associação Comercial e conta com o patrocínio da Natural One.
