La Unidad Educativa "Adolfo Burton" se encuentra hubicada en el municipio de San Javier Provincia Ñuflo de Chavez Departamento Santa Cruz - Bolivia.La misión de San Francisco Xavier, considerada la primer reducción, fue fundada por los misioneros Jesuitas el 31 de diciembre de 1691. En 1730 se estableció el primer colegio de música en la región. Esta escuela fue conocida por manufacturar violines, arpas y otros instrumentos musicales. Su iglesia fue construida entre 1749 y 1752, posteriormente restaurada entre 1987 y 1993. Esta hermosa construcción nos invita a recorrerla, disfrutando de su arquitectura con tallados ornamentales de columnas y dibujos en madera con vistosos tonos amarillo y café. Actualmente esta construcción es un Monumento Nacional y Patrimonio Histórico de la Humanidad.
La Ley de Educación Nro. 070, Avelino Siñani - Elizardo Pérez, busca transformar esta concepción, en base a una educación cuyos principios son promover una educación descolonizadora, una educación productiva, una educación socio comunitaria, y muy particularmente, una educación intra e intercultural.
