Vom Juli bis zum 3. Oktober findet jährlich das Mosel Musikfestival statt.1985 begann das Mosel Musikfestival, die Region um Bernkastel-Kues in eine klingende Konzertlandschaft zu verwandeln. Inzwischen hat sich die regionale Musikreihe, die damals noch unter dem Namen Mosel Festwochen startete, als international ausgerichteter Klassikevent deutschlandweit etabliert und findet jährlich im Rahmen des Kultursommers Rheinland-Pfalz statt.
Das Mosel Musikfestival mit seiner einmaligen Melange aus Musik, Architektur, Landschaft und Wein hat inzwischen durchaus auch in der etablierten Künstlerszene einen klangvollen Namen. "Wo große Meister in kleinen Dörfern spielen", diesen Grundsatz nimmt das Mosel Musikfestival wörtlich und punktet mit dem Ansatz "nah, intim und erlesen" und überschaubaren Spielstätten im außergewöhnlichen Ambiente. Die Römerstadt Trier mit ihren Weltkulturerbe-Bauten Konstantin-Basilika, Hohe Domkirche und Kurfürstliches Palais als auch traditionsreiche Weinstädte und -dörfer mit urtümlichen Kellergewölben, alten Dorfkirchen und Kloster-Kreuzgängen sind entlang der gesamten Mosel Kulisse und Bühne für mehr als fünfzig Veranstaltungen vom luxemburgischen Grevenmacher bis Winningen nahe Koblenz.
Träger des Festivals ist die große kommunale Familie der vier Landkreise an der Mosel, die Stadt Trier, sowie Stadt und Verbandsgemeinde Bernkastel-Kues, unterstützt von zahlreichen Sponsoren aus der Wirtschaft.
