Get up to the minute, real time traffic and transit information for NYS with 511NY, now featuring Drive Mode.

511NY is New York State’s official traffic and travel information source. The 511NY app provides statewide real-time traffic and transit information for all of New York State. New to 511NY is the Drive Mode. Users enter in their destination and origin and are provided up to three routes with highway travel times based on traffic conditions. Drive mode also provides audible alerts to the driver for incidents occurring along their route.

The 511NY app also offers a transit trip planner, access to over 1,000 camera images, as well as weather alerts and forecasts. A color coded map displaying winter road conditions also is available during the winter months!

4 ★The concept of including the voice alerts with traffic is very good. I never think traffic can be integrated with voice report. Everyone should have a try, although there are still many parts of the app need to be improved. Such as the color, blue is good, if it is green, it should be better. Green is better for the eyes. Moreover, I wish the developer makes some location detection inside of the app. For example, automatically detect my home, my office so that I dont need to put the address every time. I think the developer should be very smart, because the incidents in the map are well organized and speed is faster than other apps. Some times I saw there are 300 incidents in the map. Speed of showing the incidents is still fast. Amazing. The developer did a good job!

2 ★Every time I try to choose a region it stops. Traffic cameras are cool but no rating and only 10+ downloads..I'll check back later when they fix it

1 ★Looking for traffic cams. Didnt have anything for i-84 in ny. Didnt have dutchess and orange counties in NY, yet had Connecticut areas. Yet the app is called 511NY. Go figure...

3 ★Reinstalled on 2 phones. After taking to open a new feature such as drive or traffic incidents, app just shuts down, it would be great if this didn't happen I would give five (5) stars ...

2 ★Site/account works on laptop, sort of, but when it's issues transfer to the app? Ha! Not straightforward or intuitive, and, tho LOGGED IN, GPS ON, doesn't remember settings. Tried to set area AGAIN, but Rochester/Buffalo NOT an option. ?? Selected NY state, then tried to select COUNTY, but ONLY choice was Bergen - a TOWN! SERIOUSLY?!? I quit & uninstalled. JUST want map of my default region with chosen alerts showing, and to REMEMBER it and NOT start me in Quebec.

1 ★Tried to look on app for road closures after flooding and it missed A LOT.Use to be a helpful app. Now I'll just Google local news for the area I'mgoing.
