RaceJoy is created specifically for running, cycling and triathlon events with a focus on the participant and spectator experience. Features vary by event and may include live phone tracking, progress alerts, results, race information, photos, Send-a-Cheer and much more!
There are three distinct experiences in RaceJoy: -Timing Integration Events -PhoneTrak Events -Training Days
Timing Integration Events: These are events that have contracted with RaceJoy to provide a premium experience for participants and spectators. Features are free and provided by the event or sponsor(s).
Features vary by race and may include: -Tracking with Progress Alerts: There is no need to carry your phone as this is based on the participant’s BIB/chip as they cross over timing points on the course. -Scored Race Results within moments of crossing the finish line. -Automatic Progress Postings to Twitter (with your approval, of course!). -Essential race information like schedules, FAQs, race news, BIB numbers, and more. -Your official race photos and RunPix information. -Optional PhoneTrak for live phone tracking and Send-a-Cheer!
PhoneTrak Events: These are events that offer: -Live GPS phone tracking on the actual course map. -Send-a-Cheer! (fun motivational audio clips). -Proximity alerts (spectators and waiting relay teams get an alert when a participant is drawing near). -MeetUp tool for seeing where you are in relation to a participant. -Optional Scored Race Results within moments of crossing the finish line and Photos based on event.
The race participants must carry their phone during the race to experience these features.
Training Days This feature enables athletes to have their friends and family track their progress live on a map and send motivational cheers during long training runs or rides. All PhoneTrak features are available in Training Days, along with special motivational cheers to help you through those tough moments.
Add a Race? If you would like a race to offer the full featured experience with official race progress alerts and results, please let the race director know about RaceJoy. If you would like to use the phone tracking for an upcoming race, send us your request at AddRace@racejoy.com.
Battery Usage RaceJoy’s live phone tracking feature is ONLY activated during the hours of the event. When using Training Days, the athlete turns on/off tracking as needed. Use of this GPS technology running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. You may disable this under settings at anytime during the event to conserve battery life if needed.
Feedback and Support We hope you enjoy using RaceJoy! Please share your experience in the App store to encourage others to try it out. If you have had any issues, or have feedback or ideas, please help us to improve the experience by contacting us at support@racejoy.com.
RaceJoy is created by a small family business and is dedicated to changing the race experience.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★It's a good idea implemented badly. There are a lot of cool features, but none of them work including the gps based ones if you don't have data service, which we didn't most of our race. It's not very intuitive, and pretty disorganized. It may work better if your race is in the city, but i think you will still be better with separate apps that are designed for what you need (Google Maps, stopwatch app, family locator app)
5 ★This is a great app for your family and friends to use. Obviously the chip time is your official time, but the RaceJoy app allows those who are going to cheer you on the opportunity to track your progress. My wife and son use it to know when and where they can come and cheer along the course. Beats standing around, waiting and looking. They can quickly see where I am at. Very useful tool.
5 ★I had the opportunity to use this app at my recent half-marathon within the annual Baltimore Running Festival. Easy to use and understand. the spectator feature is the best. my family and friends were able to track me, receive real time updates and they were able to send cheers to me as I was running. this cheer feature was the best because at times I wanted to slow down or stop, I would get a cheer or message from them that kept me going. never experienced an app like this before. it is great!
5 ★I enjoyed using this Race app! I had so much fun watching my daughter run in a Utah Marathon far away from another state. My favorite feature was sending uplifting cheers and songs while she ran. I loved the live stats and alerts when she passed a marker. I wish a few basic instructions had popped up ahead of time as I opened each page like saying there's a limit on the number of messages that can be sent. I want to find another app like this one that can always send encouraging messages.
1 ★Terrible experience. Tried to use it to track a virtual race. Big green button to start is ok, but then a small ok that you have to hit while starting to run? Get it started, put my phone away so I can, well, run, and then when I finished, pull out my phone, and the app is telling me to start tracking. No clue when app decided it wasn't going to finish tracking my race. Fortunately, my race will accept my Garmin tracking. Very poor compared to other apps I've used for virtual tracking.
1 ★Absolute garbage! Didn't send any notifications when my husband was running his leg of the relay. Also he didn't get my "cheers." Super hard to navigate the app. I had to dig through menus just to find the tracking part, which should be the easiest thing to find! Totally useless app, don't bother.
5 ★Fabulous app! Loved getting cheers, and my husband and friends easily tracked me and were able to be at several places on the course to cheer me on in person, as well as knowing exactly when I was crossing the finish line, so they were there to cheer me in. Easy to set up as a participant and as a watcher.
3 ★Does not respect phone sound settings! I wanted to track my husband's run, but marathons are EARLY, and I am NOT a morning person. It tracks fine, and the cheer feature is cool, but for the love of god... why do the notifications still make sounds when my phone is set to vibrate or do not disturb? No! BAD APP! I need to sleep so I can be rested enough to meet him at the finish line.
2 ★I understand the reason for Race Joy. I did a half yesterday. I keep my phone in a waist pack that has water bottle and such. Since I had to start the Racejoy app at the start line I had to walk over to the side of the road to be able to put my phone away. This wasted precious time. Auto-start would definitely be better. Since it uses GPS it should be able to do it. I don't know if there was a blind spot or blind spots along our route. About a mile after the start line I lost signal. I do not know if it re-acquired the signal or not. I didn't want to have to stop, pull it out of my pack, check it, and then put it back into my pack. So I just continued without it. My family was unable to track my progress as well. Supposedly it will start tracking on it's own after one mile. Where did it say that this would happen? I just listed to the Racejoy tutorial on YouTube and nothing was mentioned. As I stated if it uses GPS then the start line should be on GPS as well correct? So when a person crosses the start or finish it should be picked up.
3 ★We used this for the Gap trail relay. It was very helpful tracking our active runner during the relay. This app has come a long way since it was released but it still has some accuracy and design issues. Its sometimes confusing to use. Too many ways to do the same thing and the menu is over cluttered.
1 ★Great idea but horrible execution. UI is awful, and not intuitive. We did a 200 miles relay where cell phone coverage was not great is some areas and you can evev load the app. Its ok to not have the latest data but at least you should be able to see cached data. Audio uses always the phone speaker instead of an active bluetooth connection which is pointless if using a headset. If you are zooming in some area, the zoom is lost once you lock your phone
1 ★Worst racing app I've ever seen. I am currently tracking 4 friends running the Burlington VT marathon. The "alerts" are all over the place. For example I just now received a notification that one friend crossed the 9 mile mark, when I previously was notified that he crossed mile 20! And to top all that off, even if your phone is silenced, the notifications are not. Finally, navigating this app is anything but easy. Whoever designed this is on something pretty heavy.
