En 990 le royaume de France paisible et florissant est la cible des invasions Vikings .Le territoire est sillonné par un mage archevêque anglais du nom de Sigéric, et de son scribe Colomban.
Avec la ferme intention de ramener les artefacts sacrés leur permettant de rallier les peuples, tous deux traversèrent les terres pour se rendre à Rome. Éveillant la curiosité de certains sur leur passage.
Sur le chemin du retour, en terre Haut-Saônoise, ils se retrouvèrent confrontés à la colère des vikings et d’autres créatures ne tolérant pas leur présence sur les lieux.
