Curio praia Classico Repetidor. O curió possui o nome científico de Sporophila angolensis. Ele pertence a família Thraupidae e em inglês é conhecido como Chestnut-bellied Seed-Finch.O cuió também é conhecido como avinhado e papa-arroz. Existem parentes próximos do nosso curió na Nigéria e na Califórnia, porém diferem do nosso na plumagem e canto. O nome curió, na língua Tupi Guarani, significa “Amigo do Homem”, pois este pássaro gostava de viver perto da aldeia dos índios. Atualmente é grande a criação de curió devido ao seu belo canto.
No Brasil foram encontrados cerca de 128 tipos diferentes de canto de curió. Normalmente caracterizados por serem oriundos de determinadas regiões do País. Os cantos mais conhecidos e difundidos foram os que possuíam a qualidade diferenciada da repetição. Entre eles podemos destacar o Viteu (Bahia), o Vi Vi Te Teu (Pernambuco), o Vovo Yiviu (Alagoas), o canto Paracambi (Rio de Janeiro), o Catarina (Santa Catarina), o Timbira (Maranhão) e finalmente o Curió Praia Classico o famoso Praia Grande (Litoral de São Paulo).
