2 ★It works, but it's too gimmicky for me. I'll make it clear that this is all based on personal preference. All I need is to control my Sphero. I think there's too much going on in this app, from the appearance and layout of the controller to other unnecessary effects. The games are unnecessary. The color panel is on its own screen. And worst, in my opinion, the layout is horizontal. If you're like me, you'll likely prefer to use Sphero Edu (formerly Lightning Lab) to control the Sphero. It's simpler, more convenient, and compatible with all Spheros in one app.
1 ★Used to connect on my old phone but now I have changed it refuses to connect to anything. My phone can see it and has paired with it but the app still won't connect my sphero just sits there flashing different colours.
2 ★Sphero uses to work. Now I connect it, play for 30 seconds, and it disconnects. Very frusterating. Sphero had been fully charged, location is on phone. Mobile data is on and at full bars of 4g. Might have to toss this toy and never replace
5 ★Have a Samsung tab 4 running on kit Kat I have enough space but IT stillsaid to delete something I ended up deleting all my APS factory resettingand tried on edu to none of them work. Funny thing is as I got to 0 APS itfinally said cant install. Ive had it on another device it worked fine butthis is complete trash. Needs compatibility fix. Please fix it as this isthe only device Il have to be using for a while. And really want to use mysphero.
3 ★The app often resets my spheros name and level progression. The stats screen is completely broken, doesn't record distance and all the levels stuck on 0. The last few tricks say they are earned in supply drops but I only find cores and I don't like having to stop and wait to change colors. I loved Brent Spiner though, he made it enjoyable for me when he wasn't telling me to bash my shero around or shake the crap out of it. . .the crazy nut.
1 ★Don't ask me to contact customer service unless you're going to reverse it. You have to turn on location services to use your Sphero now. What a load crap! I have limited data and as a previous reviewer pointed out, every app likes to phone home collecting data and draining my battery. This USED to be my dog's favorite toy. Now its useless to me.
4 ★No regrets buying the sphero. But the feature that forces you to point the blue light at you while in the joystick is not satisfying to me. Why not make it move based on where your phone is facing like the tilt.
4 ★Unable to communicate with Samsung tab A. Fully charged SPRK and ollie do not connect thru this app. Android version 6.0.1, please fix so I don't have to buy an ipad mini. Location services has been in all the time as well, we have done everything that it asks us to do. We have SPRK edition, should SPRK be able to connect to apps designed for sphero 2.0? Thanks the app is working for the SPRK now.
2 ★I remember the good old days when a Sphero was just a Sphero and the Sphero app was just an app to control it. No back story. None of this level-up-your-Sphero BS. (by level up they mean let you make it go faster rather than let it go faster)
4 ★Figure it out by digging harder or revise ur response to "we're collecting location information for targeted advertisements" as this is more likely than the latter!! The app is awesome ignoring the gps hiccup, except the occasional and undesirable suggestions/sleep modes while in play mode. Also a developement of using the magnetic north in the phone to reference the orientation of the phone with heading during calibration should be developed or looked into.
2 ★Sphero 2 is a lot more expensive than the mini. It is waterproof and can go outside and also has induction charging. Unfortunately this app is bloated rubbish. I have a mini which has a nice small app and better controls. If only I could get rid of this slow to load app with multiple clicks to do basic stuff like shut off sphero and use mini app to control it, it would be nice. The control of the mini is nicer too. Presumably the extra money spent on sphero has gone into a disingenious marketing department that has been in charge of "improving it" with bloat. Ironic those who spend the extra money on a large sphero get the rubbish app
3 ★The device is very fun but complicated, I don't understand the charging and if it is done or not and e new update brings u using GPS, which is a huge data waster. But it is very amazing and fun when playing
