Seit April 2021 ist im Erfurter Egapark das neue Naturschutzzentrum der Stiftung Naturschutz Thüringen zu finden. Neben der Hauptgeschäftsstelle gibt es hier für BesucherInnen eine informative und moderne Ausstellung zum Nationalen Naturmonument „Grünes Band Thüringen“.Die App erweitert die Ausstellung um interaktive Elemente und detailreiches Hintergrundwissen zum Grünen Band. Die digitalen Inhalte der Ausstellung können hier kontaktarm abgerufen und zum größten Teil auch zuhause nachgelesen und -gehört werden. So kann man den Zeitsprung von der ehemaligen Grenze zum Grünen Band als dreidimensionales Augmented Reality-Modell nachvollziehen, einen Grenzturm anschauen und Menschen, die am Grünen Band aktiv sind, zuhören. Slideshows zeigen anschaulich und in Kürze die Geschichte von Grenze und Grünem Band und laden zum Wandern und Entdecken des Grünen Bandes Thüringen ein.
Die App ist als Ergänzung der Ausstellung vor Ort gedacht, bietet aber auch die Möglichkeit, Film- und Audioelemente unabhängig von der Ausstellung abzurufen.
