โครงการอุทยานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอีสานและลุ่มน้ำโขง มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี(Ubon Ratchathani University Art and Cultural Park)
จัดตั้งขึ้น เมื่อ ปี พ.ศ. 2543 ตามมติของคณะกรรมการบริหารมหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ เป็นสถานที่ในการดำเนินกิจกรรมทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรมในภาพรวม โดยใช้พื้นที่ทั้งหมด 98 ไร่ บริเวณใกล้หนองอีเจม สภาพเป็นป่าโปร่งและมีต้นไม้ขนาดใหญ่ที่มีคุณค่าทางเศรษฐกิจกว่า 3,400 ต้น
โครงการอุทยานศิลปวัฒนธรรมอีสานและลุ่มน้ำโขง มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี จัดตั้งขึ้นภายใต้ 3 แนวคิดหลัก ดังนี้
- แนวคิดเชิงอนุรักษ์ (Conservation): การอนุรักษ์พลังงานและลดการก่อสร้างและบำรุงรักษาค่าใช้จ่าย และการอนุรักษ์ต้นไม้ที่มีอยู่ในพื้นที่
- แนวคิดด้านนวัตกรรม (Innovation): ใช้ระบบผสมผสานระหว่างพลังงานไฟฟ้ากระแสหลักกับพลังงานไฟฟ้าจากแสงอาทิตย์ (Hybrid system) การสร้างอาคารเพื่อลดการปล่อยของเสียออกจากตัวอาคาร (Zero waste system) การออกแบบอาคารที่มีพลังงานสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ เน้นการติดตั้งระบบพลังงานทดแทนและการออกแบบอาคารให้สามารถใช้พลังงานน้อยลง (Zero energy building) การนำวัสดุ Recycle มาใช้ในการสร้างสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่าง ๆ การสร้างพื้นที่กระตุ้นความคิดสร้างสรรค์
- แนวคิดทางวัฒนธรรม (Culture): มีพื้นที่แสดงนิทรรศการ (ด้านวัฒนธรรม) เป็นรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของไทยอีสาน กัมพูซา ลาว และเวียดนาม เชื่อมต่อวัฒนธรรมทั้งสี่ชาติด้วยวิถีเกษตรและวิถีพุทธ
เป็นโครงการของมหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานีที่มีการบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ร่วมกันจากคณะและสาขาวิชาต่างๆ ดังนี้
