Bagi sebagian besar warga Yogyakarta tentu sudah tidak asing dengan sosok Dimas Tedjo. Wajar saja karena ia juga aktif terlibat di acara Klinong Klinong Campursari, sebuah program yang diproduksi stasiun televisi lokal Jogja TV. Walau wajahnya sudah sangat familiar di kawasan Jawa Tengah ternyata masih saja membuat sosok pria ganteng yang satu ini merasa kurang dalam memperluas popularitasnya. Hingga akhirnya pada 2009 silam ia mengikuti ajang pencarian bakat musik Dangdut di TPI (sekarang MNCTV) yang berlabel Dangdut Mania. Dari situ muncul pertanyaan, sebenarnya genre apa yang tengah ia tekuni sebagai profesi. Dengan lantang ia jawab bahwa latar belakang dari keluarga seniman adalah alasan dasarnya sehingga kenal dengan berbagai aliran sejak masih kecil, dan masalah genre asalkan ia menguasai maka apapun akan ia jalani.Dengan pernyataan tersebut jelas sangat terbukti dengan munculnya album-album yang ia rilis mulai dari Langgam, Campursari, Pop Dangdut, Dangdut Koplo, dan berbagai jenis musik lainnya. Pencapaian luar biasa selanjutnya adalah pengakuannya bahwa sosok yang paling berjasa mengenalkannya pada musik asli Indonesia tersebut adalah mendiang RM Manthous yang tak lain adalah pencipta musik Campursari yang juga asli dari Gunung Kidul.
Penyanyi yang baru saja lulus sarjana hukum pada 2012 lalu ini lahir dari pasangan Ahmad Sonaji dan Ponikem pada 5 Oktober 1980 silam. Namun kembali dikonfirmasi mengenai eksistensinya ia mengaku akan tetap memilih tour keliling dari kampung ke kampung saja dan tak berniat untuk menetap mengadu nasib keartisannya di ibukota.
Sejauh ini 8 album solo telah ia keluarkan, dan raihan tersebut masih akan terus terlampaui seiring berjalannya waktu. Kita tunggu saja, apakah nantinya Campursari akan semakin go international seperti visi dan misi yang telah ia target sebagai generasi muda sekaligus pemelihara kekayaan budaya yang dimiliki bangsa ini.
