Este aplicativo oferece a Bíblia em Português, traduzida por João Ferreira Annes d'Almeida, pastor protestante Português da Igreja Reformada Índias Orientais Holandesas.
Simplesmente conhecido como João Ferreira Almeida, muito jovem deixou a Igreja Católica, se converteu ao protestantismo e viveu na Indonésia e Malásia, ambos colônias holandesas no Oriente.
João Almeida Ferreira foi o primeiro tradutor da Bíblia em Português. Ele traduziu o Novo Testamento, que foi publicado pela primeira vez em 1681.
Almeida começou a traduzir o Antigo Testamento, mas morreu sem concluir o trabalho para o qual havia dedicado sua vida. Seu último trabalho foi Ezequiel 48.21. Sua obra foi concluída pelo pastor holandês Jacobus op den Akker.
A Bíblia completa em Português foi publicada em 1681. Mais tarde, em 1898, foi revista e uma nova edição foi publicada: "Revista e Corrigida". Novamente em meados do século XX, foi revista e publicada sob o nome de "Revista e Atualizada".
A Bíblia Ferreira João tem duas seções principais: o Antigo e o Novo Testamento.
