Unika De La Salle Manado didirikan pada tanggal 7 Agustus 2000. Motto dari Universitas Katolik De La Salle Manado adalah Religio (Iman), Mores (Moral), Cultura (Budaya). Dengan demikian, Unika De La Salle memiliki komitmen yang kuat untuk mendidik manusia yang bertakwa kepada Tuhan, memiliki kehidupan moral, dan menghormati budaya yang ada.Sekitar 30% Mahasiswa Unika De La Salle berasal dari luar daerah seperti Luwuk, Banggai, Gorontalo, Palu, Pontianak, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Makassar, Jogjakarta, Papua, Ambon, Ternate dan kabupaten dilingkup propinsi Sulawesi Utara.
