HiztegiAPP es más que un diccionario, ya que ofrece la posibilidad de consultar a la vez 36 recursos lingüísticos. Entre ellos se encuentran diccionarios bilingües, multilingües, diccionarios de sinónimos, diversos corpus y el corrector ortográfico Xuxen. Por defecto, la aplicación consulta estas webs:

Se pueden realizar búsquedas en todos esos recursos al mismo tiempo, o si se prefiere, se puede personalizar la lista de recursos que se quieren consultar. Esa lista se puede modificar cuando se quiera, según las necesidades de cada momento. Según los recursos que se escojan, la aplicación ofrece distintas opciones de lenguas, aparte del euskera (español, francés, inglés, alemán, latín, japonés…).

Es muy fácil de usar, y, permite también “lematizar” la búsqueda. Por ejemplo, si el usuario no conoce el significado de la palabra “nentorkizun”, la aplicación buscará la raíz de esa forma verbal, y el usuario verá el resultado de esa última búsqueda. Para ello basta con activar la opción "lematizazioa" en la lista de recursos.
