A long-term, sustainable plan for your health requires more than a reminder to do push-ups or eat vegetables. ENCOURAGE incorporates evidence-based behaviour change techniques to help you reduce sedentary time during your workday. Reducing your sedentary time (a risk factor distinct from insufficient exercise) has been shown to:

• Decrease risk of several chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease and diabetes
• Decrease risk of all-cause mortality
• Increase psychological health

People who more frequently sit for extended periods beyond 30 minutes are at a higher risk of having a future heart attack or stroke. By breaking up periods of sitting, you can reduce your risk.

2 ★A great idea but it seems to be missing some very essential features. You can set when the reminders start coming. But you can't seem to set when they should stop. It's 10pm. I want to go to bed but i'm still getting prompted to excercise. Am i expected to uninstall this map every night and then reinstall it in the morning? Also there is no way to change the interval time between reminders. As it is now, you are much better off with a simple interval timer app.
2 ★Doesn't really work for me. I need something that ALARMS. Not just silently pop on my notifications bar, because I am obviously not always on my phone. Don't see the point if it doesn't alarm with each reminder. Uninstalling.

5 ★Only just started using this app, but really enjoying it. Would be nice to have some indication of how many reps would be good to do for some moves, but really love the large range of suggested activities - especially the stealth desk ones. So far it has helped me do a bit of movement whilst at work and on a long train journey. Looking forward to trialling it for a longer period, hopefully i can keep it up.
3 ★I love the idea but it did not record my challenges. I did three challenges in a row but it recorded one. It seems "stiff" rather than flexible.
