Description

PrivateKit allows you to log your location once every five minutes and identify areas of overlap with public time-stamped GPS location data. PrivateKit stores this information on your device – storing your last 28 days of location history and location overlap in less than 100KB of space. You can also import prior location history from other apps to quickly build your location history and start comparing for GPS overlap.

PrivateKit is 'privacy-first' by design. Your location history and overlap record cannot be accessed from outside your device unless you choose to export them via email or text. Because with PrivateKit all information is stored locally on your phone and not on servers, you are in control of your data.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Watch the project on Github fot development progress, only releases are here. They seem to not update this often. We need this app.
1 ★Emailing you detailing the issues now. 03/27/2020 - Update makes app completely useless. No longer working at all. PREVIOUSLY - Needs work. App should pull the latest version of the map logging data. Also should have ability to select which log file to choose as well as display a list of such files. Files can be stored in secure area of your application space for security purposes. Please FULLY qa the app before submitting to play store.
2 ★Why do both screens say the same thing? What is the logging indicator? It should be clear and conscise. There should be no guessing if it is logging or not. Glad you folks are dedicated to good causes.
1 ★As currently written, this tracing app isn't useful. It says it gathers position data every few minutes. In fact it does so so sporadically as to be basically off.
5 ★Seems simple and has big potential. It's nice that the developer is so concerned about privacy, but right now I think its being over-emphasized on the website, and this is distracting potential users and the media. This app reminds me of other simple "crowdsourced info" apps like Waze, which I am comfortable using. Great job. American innovation is something to be proud of in these tough times.
2 ★Doesn't scroll. Half the page is always missing. I tried to link my Google data too, but made a mistake so pushed the back button on my phone. I was taken to the home screen, but couldn't restart the process. The buttons on the screen were tiny slivers. I couldn't scroll down, and the screen wouldn't shrink. Probably going to wait on this app until it gets better.
1 ★Won't the upcoming tracing apps from Google and Apple make this one obsolete?
5 ★I'm volunteering with this bc I think the app is going to be critical as we try to "flatten the curve" and reduce the high contagion rate. So far it seems simple to me and I like knowing that if I need the data, it's there. And tbh I'm not taking a million trips outside at the moment anyway, but I also think when we start to relax social distancing a bit, this will be a key piece of technology to quickly contain any new/recurring outbreaks.
1 ★It just stays on a "logging" page. I don't get it. I thought it was going to tell me if I have crossed paths with someone infected but it seems like it will only show u in real time if u are currently near someone infected. Also the app will only know who's infected if they actually log that info into the app themselves. So why would someone knowingly report to this app that they are infected, and then be out and about in the streets so the app can alert the person next to them? Uninstalling.
1 ★Runs into errors whenever I try to import my data. Error is: error loading page. Domain: undefined. Error code : -1. Description: net::ERR_FAILED Have tried reinstalling with no improvement. What I did: downloaded Google history (KML). Returned to app import. It didn't auto detect so I downloaded it from within the import section. Also tried downloading JSON just in case, no change.
3 ★The artical i read was to stay clear of anyone who tested positive. China has real time, color coded, and location app of whos tested positive. I thought this may be similar. In the article i read it would let you know if you've crossed paths with someone who tested positive but thats only if they've indicated they have it?
5 ★It just stays on the logging page because thats what it is doing. If someone tested positive, the person would provide the health care providers with the person's phone for his history. Also the news button will tell you it is a prototype and that new features will be added .. Installed
