Description
El actual Diario de Mallorca es la cuarta publicación que ostenta esta cabecera. Los periódicos anteriores surgieron en 1808, 1874 y 1900.La cabecera nació en 1953 como consecuencia de la fusión entre El Correo de Mallorca y La Almudaina.
Desde noviembre de 1991 el diario es editado por Prensa Ibérica, que supuso un cambio histórico en la trayectoria de la publicación e impulsó un ambicioso proceso de modernización integral. El 25 de julio de 2003, los Reyes, don Juan Carlos y doña Sofía, presidieron el acto de conmemoración del Cincuentenario y recibieron el Premio Diario de Mallorca.
En 1993 nació el Club Diario de Mallorca. En sus más de 25 años de historia, 4.000 conferenciantes y 500.000 oyentes han dado vida a esta tribuna por la que han pasado los principales protagonistas de la política, la economía, la sociedad, la ciencia, la cultura y el deporte mallorquín.
