O Pricki foi desenvolvido para diminuir o tempo despendido pelo profissional que realiza o Prick Test, que com apenas uma foto da região na qual foi realizado as punturas e houve a formação de pápulas, a IA aplicada a essa ferramenta possibilita a identificação dessas pápulas na foto capturada e o cálculo das áreas das pápulas. No cenário atual, o padrão utilizado para diagnosticar o Prick Test depende da experiência do profissional treinado que utiliza uma régua ou paquímetro para mensurar o diâmetro de cada pápula formada. No entanto, pesquisadores da área de Alergia e Imunologia relataram que o cálculo da área da pápula ao invés do diâmetro, se mostrou mais fidedigno à aferição.Além de auxiliar no diagnóstico e garantir reprodutibilidade na rotina clínica, o Pricki possui outras funcionalidades, como:
