Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★IT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. I've been trying to make the app work with the UTWS3 Bluetooth receivers and one of the pairs CANNOT BE CONECTED. Been struggling with this problem since I got them, waiting 16 seconds each time I select the second device (in this case the left) but it always says "conection failed". Also the application lacks options to make your experience better (only 3 EQ presets) AND sometimes the modifications I did in the only working device are not saved. PLEASE FIX THIS APP!
2 ★Pretty bad implementation, if you spend a couple of minutes going through the options it just turns off the BTR3 without warning. If I open the codecs list and don't do anything or tap Cancel, it immediately turns off the receiver. This is on LineageOS 15.1 (Oreo-based). I didn't keep it long enough to find out if it works in some restricted scenario if you're careful, I was just testing it out of curiosity. I have a different effects app with EQ that actually works over LDAC (just not at 96 kHz). Uninstalled for now.
3 ★Great experience but the equalizer is not very useful since it keeps resetting. For some reason the app keeps forgetting the custom equalizer settings (User 1, 2 and 3) after every few disconnects. If we could back up our EQ settings (to a local file for example) this problem could be made much easier to deal with. It is time-consuming (thus annoying) to have to re-do the EQ settings again and again and again. Please fix this FiiO or at least let us back up our settings. Other than that, 5/5.
2 ★It's a PITA to make it pair with UTWS3. Also, why does it require location services to be turned on all the time? Once I managed to connect my UTWS3 (which took ages), I couldn't update their firmware. Neither "Online Upgrade" worked, nor did the "Local Upgrade". Both options seemed to unpack the firmware archive and then just stopped, without going any further..
3 ★It works okay, gives you a lot of basic stuff you need, but it can be way better. One annoying thing is that I wanna be able to switch between EQ and Audio quicker, there's this loading time that makes navigating it really slow. I also wish you can save EQ profiles. Not being able to save EQ profiles really puts a massive damper on using it. Lastly I wanna be able to type in the numbers for EQ and volume, that slider just doesn't have good control and isn't precise enough
3 ★Using it with the Fiio KA3, I was able to control everything just fine. But even removing the app from battery optimization and setting everything up so as to not stop the app, the device would ask again if one allowed the Fiio app to control the USB device (the DAC). This didn't happen to me with iBasso DAC and app. Perhaps, a better implementation of the USB control over OTG would suit it best, since the prompt asks for "control of the device" and not "exclusive control".
3 ★Alright when it works properly, needs improvements. It's a bit slow and the controls could be better. Only 1 custom EQ possible. Makes it impossible to save profiles for different audio devices/systems. I'd like to delete all the EQ presets, they aren't useful. Navigating presets is janky and clumsy. Needs more explanation on what options do. The firmware for BTR5 still puts unecessary wear on the battery. I told FiiO this a year ago referencing scientific studies on lithium batteries.
5 ★Works perfect! Using BTR3k. Have used it to increase bass for my headphones. There is Low pass filter, but wished there were more modes, like a reverb ir filter. And for those that says it doesn't work on LDAC, well that is not supported as stated already in FIIO. Minor issues on UI: font size, on some parts it overlaps. Eq slider does not align to graph. And eq changes happen on touch release, should be on drag/move.
4 ★Edit: the app has been fixed, it took 4+ months. Its an okay app, it does what you want and doesnt give you ads. OLD: It was an ok app, until it wasn't. Used to work before. I use the BTR5, and with the app i could use EQ to flatten how my headphones sound, change the input priority (BT or USB-C). The app does detect the BTR5, but it just shows it as a blue box with a question mark and wont let me change anything anymore. Hopefully FiiO fixes this soon since its very annoying.
4 ★The app is still pretty janky. Frequently likes to forget my BTR5 ever existed, but settings stay on and that's great. The EQ is nowhere near as granular as I would like - some IEMs and headphones are far harder to EQ as a result. 8 or 10 bands you could freely edit would be a massive benefit, as Qudelix has a far superior app otherwise.
4 ★Seeing lots of negative ratings and not sure why. It seems people are misunderstanding what the app is for. It's a companion app for specific devices, which are listed in the home page. I've only had it installed for a few mins and so far it works perfectly with my BTR5 - has everything listed except for firmware update. You can select which codecs you want to use, control timeouts, EQ etc. I'll give it 5 stars when I've had more time with it and if no issues crop up...
4 ★The app works nicely, generally, but is missing a permission setting that allows it to automatically connect to my KA3, meaning I have to manually confirm it every time I want to change a setting. The addition of some widgets would also be great, for example, a shortcut to control volume and gain settings.
