The full version can be purchased directly from the App. Please check before buying the functions on your motorcycle with the Lite version of the app. In the Lite app you can fully test, however, the display of the data is very limited and it is not possible to run most service functions.
+++ Functions +++
Functions differs depending on the bike model and equipment. Likewise, the scope of individual control devices is different. The app is constantly under development and number of functions grows with every update.
The following functions are available *:
- Identification of the control unit
- Read and clear the trouble codes
- Read Freeze Frames
- Real-time data (sensor parameters, input and output signals)
- Actuators control
- Service interval reset
- ECU coding
- Read and reset adaptations
*Functions on the control unit and degree of development of the app depends. Not all controllers have all the above-mentioned functions. In order to accelerate the development, please send us the log files.
+++ Required hardware +++
Most ELM327 adapters support the diagnostic on BMW motorcycles, but there are also bad China Clones that do not support all commands. For these purposes, a test function in the app have integrated, that it allows to check the adapter for suitability and indicates whether the diagnostic adapter for K-Line and CAN bus motorcycles is suitable. The OBDLink LX and MX adapters are basically suitable for all BMW motorcycles with K-Line and CAN Bus (Latest Firmware update 4.1.x required. Contact us to get it).

5 ★Fantastic App. I purchased the ultimate license and was able to reset the service reminder, change the speed from miles to kilometres and change tyre pressure from Bar to PSI. Very powerful app. All BMW riders should download it. Many thanks.

5 ★Like other reviewers have stated, it's amazing how popular you become when your fellow BMW riders find out you can reset their service reminder! I've also used the ABS brake cycling function and it works great. Bought the ultimate version which was probably more than I needed but have had no issues to date. Wish there was an instruction manual describing the many functions this software is capable of and how to use it. I'd gladly pay a fee for that option.
5 ★I have used this app for 2 years to reset my service light and to detect codes. I was reluctant to purchase the full app because so many developers just quit working to improve their apps. This app is worth the price because they continue to add features, work to improve what they already have and ALWAYS reply to emails. I am always happy to see an update on Motoscan because it means something new is coming.
4 ★A bumpy ride. I installed motoscan in order to perform the fuel strip change to level sender on my 2009 BMW GS. the process was a bit bumpy for me as the lite version doesn't do coding. I upgraded to the professional version only to find out, it too doesn't do coding. I had to do a second upgrade to ultimate for more cost than of I had done it first, to finally get coding. It did work perfectly. happy there. It would be great if you could add the ability to turn off tpms.
3 ★The app, when it works, does well. It is very finicky to connect and when i did connect it was not my type of bike (S1000RR 2015). I tried all three S1000RR models till it worked. Once it worked reseting maintenance light, date and time cleared the first try. It took me about 3 hours of connecting bluetooth, forgetting then reconnecting bluetooth, validation the connection and try again all three bikes, getting no connection sign, till it worked. Almost asked for a refund.
3 ★Purchased ultimate version for use on F800GS. All ABS functions crash the application. Refund process appears non existent. I will update this if I am refunded in full. Edit - No response to my refund request. Had to buy new $50 scanner to work with $60 application. 3 stars, it works ok, still get some crashes and the business practices leave a lot to be desired.
5 ★Works better than expected. 2018 r1200gsa with connectivity and paired up with the OBDLink LX. i was able to reset the service indicator for a fraction of the price as a GS911 and at about the same price that the dealer was going to charge me to reset the damn light. just make sure that you reset the mileage and the date to get the warning to go away. you also have to convert from Kilometers to Miles if you're in one of those silly countries. i opted for the professional license.
5 ★I lucked into the MotoScan when the person in the line-up at the DMV told me about it. I have a GS-911 WiFi (10-pin Model) and I was never that impressed with it and certainly not at what it was priced at. The GS-911 could not even alter something as simple as the 12H to 24H time format. My MotoScan Ultimate can! And it can do just about everything such as ABS brake bleeds, etc. And it does it for a lot less $$$. I do wish that the date format had an extra option but that might be a BMW limitation. I prefer my date in the YYMMDD format.
4 ★Upgraded to ultimate as lite and professional versions are more for checks on possible issues, service reset and are not as comprehensive as "ultimate". The GS911 unit is a better option in my opinion however if your requirements are just to reset the service indicator, check actuators, etc then an OBD unit and this app work well. The developers are continually improving on this app it seems so look out for upgrades later.
4 ★Brilliant app. The only issue I've found is that it doesn't seem to recognise that ESA suspension is present on my K1300S (K40), even though it clearly is there. Tried the ESA module - neither front nor rear detected. SAF module not found. Shame, as every other feature works perfectly. If it could record live data so you could replay graphs after the fact, that would be awesome.
5 ★I bought this to reset the service light on my BMW1600. The generic bluetooth dongle would read the data fine but not write the date so the light stayed on. Once I purchased an OBDLink dongle it worked fine. Great app, just wish it would remember the live data fields I select between sessions :-)
