LE SPHINX est un hebdomadaire malien créé par Adama Dramé, l’ex-Rédacteur en chef du journal LE REFLET pour s’opposer à la corruption de plusieurs organes de la presse malienne par le système politique de l’époque. Son axiome est : « La Vérité, le plus haut phare de la déontologie journalistique. »Sa ligne rédactionnelle est la lutte contre la corruption et la délinquance financière. Véritable marée motrice de la presse malienne, il a, en au fil de ses 17 ans d’existence, LE SPHINX s’est imposé sur le paysage médiatique du Mali malgré les chausse-trapes, les ruptures de contrats d’abonnement et de publicité, les menaces et même la mort d’un de ses journalistes, Birama Touré. `
Comme l’animal antique de Thèbes qu’il a choisi le nom, au lieu de se suicider, il est prêt à reconnaître ses erreurs quand il se trompe. Tiré à 2 500 exemplaires, LE SPHINX est le journal le plus lu. Même par les dirigeants politiques qu’il dénonce.
