Smoover is een nieuwe vorm van navigatie. Het brengt je niet alleen naar je bestemming maar geeft ook rijadviezen waarmee files bestreden en zelfs voorkomen kunnen worden!Om de Smoover app te kunnen gebruiken heb je een login nodig. Meldt je hiervoor eerst aan op www.smoover.nl.
Smoover voorspelt hoe het verkeer zich zal ontwikkelen. Het berekent continu of het ergens zo druk wordt dat er een file kan ontstaan. Alle Smoover-deelnemers die zo’n druk punt naderen, ontvangen gepersonaliseerde rijadviezen, bijvoorbeeld om de snelheid aan te passen, in de rijstrook te blijven of afstand te houden. Door deze adviezen op te volgen wordt enerzijds de verkeersstroom gelijkmatiger, waardoor de kans op een verstoring wordt verkleind, en anderzijds de snelheid van de verkeersstroom verlaagd, zodat de wegcapaciteit optimaal wordt benut. Als voldoende weggebruikers de adviezen opvolgen, kunnen files uitgesteld, verkort en zelfs helemaal voorkomen worden!
