2 ★We purchased the app (10$ a month for 2 tablets) for our coffee shop and so far have not been very happy with it. It is not reliable at all. So if you do any volume this app will actually make your shop less efficient. It utilizes wifi to communicate and it is not very good. It drops signal 5 times every 10 minutes. There is no alarm or tone to let you know it disconnects so when your register is pumping out orders you have no idea if it didn't transmit one. When the app does work its great, but so far we have not been able to count on it. Other printers for use with square registers use bluetooth so I dont see why this one can't have that option as well, but I'm not a developer. It's a shame this is the only square capable app because it seems to have some serious short comings. I hope they figure out a way to make it more reliable, because if they did there are tons of food trucks and smaller shops that could benefit from this.

1 ★The app is pretty great. The customer service is about the worst thing you could ever encounter. I've had been running fresh kds on two screens for awhile and one stopped working. There's no contact number and I'm on day 3 with no response to a customer service ticket I filed. I also had a problem at initial install which I had to figure out myself as the help desk told me to read their FAQs rather than attempting to answer question.
5 ★I'd love to be able to manage multiple locations and subscriptions from one account, but other than that it has worked great. Easy to set up, Orders show up and have a good amount of customization options. I've used HP Slate 21, the Slate 21Pro and the Slate 17 , also a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. All with no problems.

1 ★We tried this for our food truck California Wrap Runner, a food truck in Denver CO and hope to save you the hassle we went through. Our ticket times average between 3-5 minutes. But in the never-ending quest to streamline and reduce those times we tried Fresh KDS. We went all-in with 2 android devices and gave it about a week on the truck before our entire team was frustrated with the inconsistencies. Our workflow was pretty basic, orders into ipad, pushed orders to 2 android "printers". This seemed to work fine when we were slow but when we got busy it turned to mayhem When we got busy, we started getting complaints from customers that 5 people behind them got their orders ahead of them. We were dumbfounded as we looked at the tablet and didn't even see their names on the list. At first, we chalked it up as user error. But this kept happening, slowing our ticket times down to 25 minutes. As we were trying to figure it out we compared both tablets and they were showing completely different orders. We were double making orders and skipping others. We pulled the plug on this software in the middle of a busy lunch. I'm out of space for this review. Stay away! Trust me.
