Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, has launched an app that will tell you if your home Wi-Fi is likely to be slowing down your broadband – and suggest tips for improving your broadband speed.Poor Wi-Fi can have a big impact on your in-home internet performance and might mean you’re not getting the best out of your broadband connection.
The Ofcom Wi-Fi Checker quickly runs a series of tests and measurements from your smartphone or tablet. These include performance measurements and diagnostic tests to establish how well your in-home network is performing.
If there is a significant drop in performance between your broadband connection and your home Wi-Fi network, the App will identify this and provide tips to help you fix problems you may have.
