Seek does not require registration and does not collect any user data by default. Some user data will be collected if you choose to sign in with an iNaturalist account, but you must be over 13 or have your parents permission to do so.

Seek will ask permission to turn on location services, but your location is obscured to respect your privacy while still allowing species suggestions from your general area. Your precise location is never stored in the app or sent to iNaturalist unless you sign in to your iNaturalist account and submit your observations.

Our image recognition technology is based on observations submitted to iNaturalist.org and partner sites, and identified by the iNaturalist community.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★great fun app, if you want to learn what plants, insects and animals are around you this will show you almost everything, some species it takes a little bit to identify but it almost always can identify species
5 ★Fun app, have the kids cataloguing nature and it causes them to be more aware of what's around them. Only downside is that you cant take photos normally, then scan them; as sometimes mobile signal drops off and everything jams up. An 'offline' mode that used the camera and geolocation to make the record, then let you run the ML scanner after would be awesome, especially for slower phones.
1 ★Pretty much entirely useless. It reckons the whole world is "Dicots". When, on the rare occasion it does identify something, you press "capture" and after a long pause says "can't identify the species, but it belongs to "Dicots". And holy moly does it chew through battery. Switch it on, you can actually see the battery meter going down.
3 ★Works fairly well for identifying stuff. Problems: - Home screen is much too busy, should be an app setting to go straight to camera - Don't need the warning every time camera is selected! - No way to shut the app down, have to force close, Back button when on home screen should close the app completely - Takes too long to identify species, difficult to keep subject in the frame while it searches
5 ★I love monthly challenges, but there hasn't been one for July, but hope it will show up eventually :/
5 ★Excellent app devastated there is no back up for observations. After a year of dedicated recording, my phone broke so I have had to start all over again 😭 This is something which would be exceptionally useful and please consider making this a key feature.
5 ★Correctly identified and the app is easy to use. Challenges are fun and educational. Time we'll spent in nature learning and growing with nature. Highly recommend. Give yourself time to become familiar with app and patience letting app correctly identify. Well worth it.
5 ★Very helpful identifying insects and plants; a great App for gardeners and nature lovers🐝🌻🐞
3 ★Easy to use when you're getting into it. But there's no way to edit false identifications. I have more than three species in my list that I know are completely wrong and would like to delete or edit those but can't find anything.
4 ★Awesome app. Sometimes it glitches /gets stuck and can't find the species, but I guess the more people use it the more the AI will improve. I really love scanning all the plants and bugs around when I'm going for walks though!
3 ★Absolutely lovely app. The only problem I have with it is that you have to take a clear photo and angle in order to get a specific species name. I have observed many animals and plants that I don't know how I got a Colorado River Toad from a SQUIRREL
5 ★Nothing can beat the level of detail and accuracy of a field guide, but this is really good, especially for plants. I love the community aspect of keeping track of sightings.
