Description

Use the power of image recognition technology to identify the plants and animals all around you. Earn badges for seeing different types of plants, birds, fungi and more!

• Get outside and point the Seek Camera at living things

• Identify wildlife, plants, and fungi and learn about the organisms all around you

• Earn badges for observing different types of species and participating in challenges

OPEN THE CAMERA AND START SEEKING!

Found a mushroom, flower, or bug, and not sure what it is? Open up the Seek Camera to see if it knows!

Drawing from millions of wildlife observations on iNaturalist, Seek shows you lists of commonly recorded insects, birds, plants, amphibians, and more in your area. Scan the environment with the Seek Camera to identify organisms using the tree of life. Add different species to your observations and learn all about them in the process! The more observations you make, the more badges you’ll earn!

This is a great app for families who want to spend more time exploring nature together, and for anyone who wants to learn more about the life all around them.

KID-SAFE

Seek does not require registration and does not collect any user data by default. Some user data will be collected if you choose to sign in with an iNaturalist account, but you must be over 13 or have your parents permission to do so.

Seek will ask permission to turn on location services, but your location is obscured to respect your privacy while still allowing species suggestions from your general area. Your precise location is never stored in the app or sent to iNaturalist unless you sign in to your iNaturalist account and submit your observations.

Our image recognition technology is based on observations submitted to iNaturalist.org and partner sites, and identified by the iNaturalist community.

Seek is part of iNaturalist, a not-for-profit organization. Seek was made by the iNaturalist team with support from the California Academy of Sciences, the National Geographic Society, Our Planet on Netflix, WWF, HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, and Visipedia.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★NOOO, it doesn't transfer data to new phone. Why would I continue to use it when I can't transfer my badges and stuff to my new device? All my achievements and everything gone, that just makes me want to not use it. Having to start again is just annoying and makes the app frustrating, I don't want to start all the challenges again, I want to just be able to continue them. 1 of the incentives to use it is the badges but if you're just going to lose them why bother, why not just go with another ap
5 ★I don't know what they did with the last update, but the app is much better now. It had been slowly declining for years, but it just turned around in the last week or so. Gets an identification within seconds almost every time now. I've only caught it making a mistake once out of 20-30 IDs. I'm used to apps slowly degrading over time, so this was a pleasant surprise.
4 ★I have to say one of my favourite new "games" is sharing with my friends how badly this app can fail. Anyone familiar with ID apps should know this is par for the course, but Seek is striving to ID so much more than any other app. Merlin can ID birds much better than Seek, but Merlin is ONLY birds, and Seek is fed by a public database, which means it'll only get better as more people contribute. However, today Seek was very, very adamant that some Badge Moss was actually a California Gull..XD
1 ★Google images are better and i couldnt scann anything with this
5 ★This app is so good, i love nature, this app makes exploring more fun! Definetly a 5 star!
5 ★has helped me to identify many plants, bushes and trees.
1 ★I used to be so impressed by this app and recommend it to everyone. Something changed in the last few months and the accuracy went WAY down. I can point my camera clearly at a chickadee and the app now has a hard time even seeing a bird, half the time it tells me I'm looking at a lizard or a marmot. If this app had never worked well then I would think nothing of it, but it's sad that what was once such a useful tool has been botched so badly. I hope it returns to its older accuracy.
2 ★Used to be great, but hasn't worked in a while
4 ★I love this app I love the little badge system so far I have seen 17 species and I'm a tracker level I love the little level system right now I'm a tracker and I plan to explore more on this app very easy to use and is exact
1 ★Used to work pretty well. Not so.much now. Not sure what happened but it rarely identifies things correctly if at all. It takes forever to even come up with the type of creature you are trying to identify. Makes it impossible to identify anything that moves.
