Dunes Course는 해안과 내륙의 크고 작은 모래언덕(Sand Dunes) 사이에 만들어진 코스로서 자연과의 교감을 중요시하는, 골프의 정통성을 유지하면서 도전적이고 전략적인 코스공략을 추구하는 코스다.Dunes란 바람에 의해 운반된 모래 또는 다른 퇴적물로 형성된 언덕으로서, 오랫동안 그 형태가 변화하고 안정화 되어가는 과정에서 이색적인 지형경관을 형성하게 된다. 따라서 Dunes Course는 경관 변화가 다양할 뿐만 아니라 모래언덕에서 넓은 페어웨이로 이어지는 리듬감 있는 언듈레이션을 전략적으로 활용한다. 또한 섬세한 변화가 있는 그린, 거칠면서도 자연스러운 형태의 벙커, 시시각각 변하는 바람은 골퍼들에게 정교하면서도 과감한 플레이를 요구한다. 대표적인 Dunes Course로는 해안사구가 발달한 미국의 Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, 호주의 Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links를 들 수 있으며, 내륙인 미국 캔자스의 Prairie Dunes Country Club등이 있다.
