5 ★I have really enjoyed this app so far. I use it along side my Rand McNally. To be honest, I use this app more than my R.M. I have been using this app for almost three months now. The truck stop and hourly marker displays makes it so much quicker and easier to help plan out your drive/time line each day. It is awesome. One thing to keep in mind is the developers of this app are not responsible if your gps taking you to the wrong destination or it is off by a block or two. Google mappers are to blame for that. I have only had two locations where that happened. I have a few requests or suggestions. Please make the MPH, direction of travel, distance to turns (basically everything on the outer edges) display in bold. That makes it much easier to see at night. Also, can you see about adding the state outlines on the maps, especially in satellite view? Or is there a way to do that in the settings?
5 ★Hey I installed an update and now it's flashing strobe lights when I activate the app. Something is wrong I don't know if you can fix it on your end but I've never had it happen before and I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times *** UPDATE *** very prompt response and helped me fix everything . GREAT SERVICE thank u smart truck route . love this app !!
4 ★Overall happy with the app and it's ability to navigate me around the US. Its gotten me in some areas that require good ole common sense to say that I better look for a different route. Combine it with the use of Google maps and my rand and I always find the best routes. Only complaints are wish it was able to give an estimated time on a selected point without having to constantly "create route" and having it calculate time based on local speeds not current driving speed.
5 ★Great app BUT.... For newer semi operators i would ALWAYS check satellite view for the destination. I do this religiously and I'm sure drivers in the game longer than me do this instinctively. Do not trust any app 100%. The last mile and even more importantly the last 1,000 feet is very tough to program with all the variability of locations out there. It's not necessary though, check sat view, it's not going away. Great low cost option, Been using this for a year and it's my favorite.
2 ★Works well on the highway. Will get you very lost when you get off the highways onto local roads. It tries to send you into parks and down single lane logging roads. They acknowledge this and tell you to turn on the satellite view. That's all well and good, if you have a good signal. That said, it does do really well on the highways and interstates.
3 ★Works well 90% time , but always makes me late on loads to east coast. Have it set up to tell me ETA for time zone in state of destination . But for some reason everytime I go to Georgia it is incorrect and changes once past east coast time zone line coming through Tennessee area. Already supposed to show est time . Has happened many times and messed me up . This needs to be corrected. Other than that it works ok , I have been using for over a year, seems to be getting better with each update.
4 ★Its slow, its extremely slow today. I have tried web browsers and Google map. They uploaded fast but this application takes for ever to upload a new route !!! Very inconvenient. I have subscribed. I have been using this for about 3 months now on my truck. It is dependable about %90 and functional.It saved me a lot of potantial troubles. Seldom it directs me to awkward roads but so far it is the best application to my research.
5 ★Maybe the route options to avoid tolls can be optimized a little. I know routes that can get me around tolls and to my destination in about 2 or 250 miles but the app wants me to drive 4 to 500 miles to avoid them. Also not a flaw but maybe an update the app does not give you usable mile markers. They are just little green signs on the map that are unreadable. Maybe can be updated to look like the speed limit sign in a corner somewhere.
5 ★Tech support is 5⭐ The 1 and only GPS for truck. I have garmin and rand mac. 4 a backup when there's no internet Never ever has STR2 let me down on routing. Never took me down a road trucks are 🚫. I trust in it 100%. Only GPS that has the ability for me to draw my own custom route. Very affordable, worth the money. Tracks all kinds of useful data. Mileage in each state, elevation, speed limit changes. It's Google maps truck edition with many added features. App never crashes or breaks down.💙👍
5 ★With the price of GPS systems costing hundreds at truck stops I needed as good of a system as possible to help me navigate North America. Trust me, I downloaded all that claimed they were the best. SmartTruckRoute 2 just proved to be the best. I even like the feature that shows the nearest truck stops so I can catch my 10 hr. Break. Easy navigation makes the app all the more worth the money for a 3 year or 1 year subscription .
3 ★I tried this for a month and it was no better than some of the more popular free apps. It appears to use Google maps but has little to no live traffic updates and does not show many side streets in warehouse facilities. It does have some very nice customization features but it seems like these also quickly drain your battery. Like any GPS , you need to verify your route and location. For me and my daily city driving I can't justify paying for this application.
5 ★Updated review *** Been using this app for over 2 years now and it's the best. It's not perfect and has some quirks once in awhile and some routes are just plain stupid, but for the most part SmartTruckRoute is my go to truck GPS. No GPS will ever be perfect due to constantly changing roads and speed limits, but this app is pretty dang close to perfect The few issues I've had have always been resolved promptly, the customer support is top notch Thanks devs/support for a great job!
