Description
Bekijk de belangrijkste architectuur in Amsterdam uit de periode 1945-1970: de tijd van de wederopbouw en van de grote stadsuitbreidingen.Na de oorlog moesten her en der gebouwen herbouwd worden. De grootste bouwinspanning was de uitvoering van het Algemeen Uitbreidingsplan, waarin de Westelijke Tuinsteden en Buitenveldert waren voorzien.
De selectie is gebaseerd op de top-100-lijsten van monumenten van het rijk en van de gemeente. Er zitten uiteraard woningen tussen, maar ook veel scholen, kerken, bruggen en bedrijfspanden, en enkele complete woonwijken.
De gebouwen zijn makkelijk te vinden via kaarten en via lijsten, gegroepeerd op functie en stadsdeel.
Alle gebouwen zijn gefotografeerd en hebben een beschrijving.
De app bevat ook ruim zeventig beknopte biografieën van de architecten die de wederopbouw en de stadsuitbreiding vorm hebben gegeven. Het zijn bekenden als Marius Duintjer en Mart Stam, maar ook vele minder bekende namen.
