Description

WalkLogger is a pedometer / step counter that lets you keep track of your physical activity, effortlessly and automatically. The step counter counts your steps and you get estimates of your distance walked or run, your active calorie burn and your total calorie consumption. Get motivated to stay active, lose weight, maintain you weight loss and stay healthy.

WalkLogger stays on in the background and automatically determines when you are walking. To use it, simply turn your screen off and put the phone in your pocket, in a belt clip, or in a purse or bag. The more firmly attached the phone is to you the better it works.

Medical research has shown that to stay healthy and prevent heart disease and diabetes it is crucial to stand up and walk several times throughout the day. People who spend lots of time standing up and moving around, for example by taking taking quite short walks throughout the day, indoors or outdoors, are healthier and live longer. Several studies have shown that you can reduce your risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes by staying active.

WalkLogger lets you:
-Count your steps
-Estimate your distance walked or run
-Estimate the calories you burn by being active (net calories)
-Estimate your total calorie consumption (gross calories)
-Get activity logs with detailed information about individual walks and runs
-Set step, distance and calorie goals
-Earn medals based on the number of steps you walk each day
-Use the pedometer from your home screen with the built in widget
-Sign up for free and automatically sync your walking and running to the cloud
-Share your progress on social networks and any other sharing apps that you have on your phone.
-Unlock app themes by walking. Walk a total of 1000 steps to unlock a purple theme, 5000 steps to unlock a red theme and 10000 steps to unlock a green theme.

WalkLogger is a pedometer that does not record or log your location. Your exercise data and any other personal information that you store in the app will not be shared with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it. Your email address will not be shared with third parties.

WalkLogger uses your phone's accelerometer to measure your activity. Unfortunately, some phones turn off their accelerometer when the screen turns off which makes it impossible to run a pedometer on those phones without draining the battery. WalkLogger will not work properly on those phones.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★The number of steps for each day now starts from the previous day's total and if you reset it back to zero it doesn't show the steps as you walk along. There's no obvious way of correcting/resetting it or updating it.
5 ★I used to have a IPod Nano which had a pedometer and it was ok. I thought I would see if there was one for the phone. After a couple of lousy ad riddled apps I found this one. It is awesome and free to boot. Well worth the download and better than the Nike one Apple has.
5 ★I tried a few others and they were unusable for one reason or another one. This one works consistently, at least so far, doesn't use up a lot of battery, and tells me what i need to know. Simple and effective! 5/5/17 update and question for the owners; the appv didn't count my steps a few days this week and i think the data and wifi probably were both off at those times. It used to work without data or wefi. Has this chsnged? If not, what could have made the app not operate properly?
3 ★When I first installed this program 2 years ago it worked very well. Then about 10 months ago it became inaccurate to thee point of useless. Could it be that I got a Fixbit for last Xmas?
2 ★All set up correctly (even measured my footstep distance for one step), however 50 correct steps in, this app only measured them as 34 steps. Not sure why the difference? Also, before I'd even started moving, the app said I'd already done 820 steps... I'd literally just installed it! The interface is bad also, very basic and not visually appealing. Very buggy. I'm using Android on. HTC One M8 fully updated.
4 ★I use this to help me stay motivated. Not because I am a fitness nut, but because I have medical issues that really try to limit my activities. This way I am reminded how many steps I've taken and maybe I can do more.
5 ★It actually shows how many steps I take in a day. I work in a hospital, and I'm on my feet all day. Was curious how many steps I take a day. It even tells you how many calories, and how many miles you walked. And gives you little awards,.. like gold , silver, bronze medals.!
5 ★Found this very accurate and easy to use. Tracks steps accurately as you speed up or slow down....watch the stick man on your phone screen to see it in action. Certainly encourages you to keep fit by walking. I'm delighted with this app. Used on moto g 2 gen android.
3 ★It seems to work well enough on my Galaxy Core Prime, but the widget needs work. Ugly and ill-formatted. I would also prefer a daily progress view over the hourly view it shows, now.
4 ★Bear in mind this is a free tool, so it's never going to be exact. On the other hand, it gives you a rough idea of where you are and where you should aim for. It does motivate you to take a few more steps, and it's sufficiently sensitive to count my steps in my coat pocket or trouser pocket.
4 ★I have tried ALL the pedometers. At least that's what it feels like. For my moto E the +2 sensitivity actually counts close to every step. Yes, I got obsessed enough to count manually and compare. The interface makes sense, it synced to myfp at the first attempt and the error margin is acceptable. I have no complaints so far and with the irritation the other fifty million step counters already caused, that's a feat.
1 ★Installed, used once, deleted, not sure why prople think this app is great. Monitored against my fitbit on a Samsung S5. 161 steps after 3.5 miles and 80% achievement on the fitbit? The phone was in the same pocket as when using other pedometers which proved far more accurate. If you are serious about your fitness avoid this app until the designers can guarantee accurate results.
