4 ★So far I really don't understand why all the bad reviews. The lights were easy to set up with the app and everything works fine. I will update if anything changes, but so far I blame user error for the bad reviews. If anyone at sengled sees this I would really recommend developing a widget! That is the one thing I think would really make this app fantastic.
2 ★The app is quite simple. Its biggest deficiency is that the scheduler lacks sunset and sundown reference times. That's a pretty basic requirement for creating a "lived in" look when you're away.
5 ★No problems here... I started with a Christmas present to a handi-able friend - now 8 bulbs at his place w/o problem, linked to Sengled Home App & Alexa. Was impressed with the ease of using these & now have 5 of the Sengled bulbs in my house. Friend has Iphone, I have Android - works equally well... To pair a bulb, use a lamp base near your wifi. Initial pairing requires 2-way communication & I've found that most devices need to be near wifi source for this. After it's paired, you can move the bulb to the far reaches of your wifi signal.
5 ★This app was unable to add globes. After messaging Sengled help this was the outcome. When you tap the details tab you have to tap the left side of the tab to access the globes. That will allow you to add globes. Once this was remedied the app has been great.
2 ★Although it all started pretty smooth and the bulb pair which came with the hub were auto paired, in a week I noticed a major problem. Using the App mostly I get an error 'No bulb is currently online' , while at the same time they work almost fine with Alexa and Google Home Voice commands. But sometimes I do not want to make a voice command when my child is asleep, so it is kind of a handicap which should be fixed in the app. Also sometimes (mostly) the brightness thing also does not work properly using the App but works fine with voice commands.
3 ★It works, but it's a little convoluted. You may need to contact them to get your devices to work like I did.
3 ★Dissappointed with limit of only eight themes. Therefore you can't have more than eight different fixtures/lamps set up. Also custom photo in scenes not working. Other than that awesome app, just takes a while to to let go of the habit of using the switch on the wall.
1 ★Failed compared to other technology. Connected as shown, been through youtube, all blogs still no connection to Alexa. Started an update for the wifi box just went round and round admonishing nothing. I've used four other smart plugs purchased on Amazon with no problem when i saw these on Amazon's Treasure truck I picked them up because they were a great deal. But after racking my tech brain no luck. I can control through the app all functions just and Alexa app recognizes app but cannot control on off, dimmer or voice command like my other. Do you have a prop like mi e. Post it. Thx
1 ★The app is easy enough to navigate. Just the bulbs do not work (came as a starter kit). The hub won't update and the builbs are not recognized. Really disappointing.
1 ★Can't authenticate with sengled site. Poor design if their site is down. Should be able to connect directly with my local hub.
1 ★A lot of issues connecting to bulbs, especially if you accidentally used a wall switch to turn them off. Even if you turn them back on and wait a long time (several hours), you will probably have to factory reset your bulb and add it back to your hub in order to get it working again.
5 ★Just got my bulb and connected it to my SmartThings Hub and Alexa. This works as expected. It took me a minute to figure out the pairing, but it really works great now and all controlled with Alexa using only the SmartThings Hub.
