The Colorado Trail Explorer endeavors to map every trail in the state of Colorado in support of the Colorado the Beautiful Initiative. COTREX connects people, trails, and technology by coordinating the efforts of federal, state, county, and local agencies to create a comprehensive repository of recreational trails for public use.
This project is led by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Department of Natural Resources, but is only made possible through partnerships with organizations at every level statewide. COTREX represents a seamless network of trails managed by over 230 land managers.

5 ★Finally the government did something right. It's free, has lots of data, allows offline use, and is easy to use. I do wish the satellite images were higher resolution and that it worked outside of Colorado. Looking at you, Utah and Idaho.
5 ★Excellent way to start finding trails in Colorado. We used the app to view trails in and around Rocky Mountain National Park. My feature wishlist is to be able to search trails offline and download every trail as an offline map layer, not just featured trails.
5 ★This has become one of my favorite apps when outdoors enjoying my home state of Colorado. From hiking to mountain biking to Jeeping, this app has never let me down! Finally a perfect replacement for the now defunct and removed Google Tracks.
5 ★Is give this app six stars if I could! Fantastic for planning hikes with all kinds of goals- scenic, waterfalls, wildlife, etc. Can also filter on distance and altitude change, difficulty, etc. Fantastic app!!
4 ★Very useful, especially the offline download portion. The only thing that I could appreciate would be the option of moving the app to the SD card for storage

5 ★So far I am very impressed with the app. I was wanting snowmobile trails and this has it. I am looking forward to using it in the Summer in the Jeep. Wish it worked with Android Auto.
3 ★Potentially game-changing. The Android version seems to not want to let me create an account or link to my FB account on my Samsung Galaxy s7. Likely won't use it until the weather breaks in a few months.
3 ★App performance seems to have slowed down a lot since original release with ongoing development. I hope this trend can turn around and head back in a snappier, faster direction.
4 ★Great app, but it REALLY needs the ability to store downloaded maps to the SD card. Maps take up a lot of space.
