نبذة عن نزار قبانيوُلد الشاعر الكبير نزار قباني في الواحد من عشرين من آذار عام 1923 في مدينة دمشق عاصمة سورية، لعائلة أدبية تجارية فوالده توفيق قباني كان مالكا ً لمصنع شوكولا، بينما الكاتب والمسرحي أبو خليل القباني هو أحد أقاربه. كان له أختان: وصال وهيفاء وثلاث أخوة: معتز، صباح ورشيد.
درس نزار بين عامي 1930-1941 في مدرسة الكلية العلمية الوطنية التي كانت مملوكة في وقتها لصديق والده أحمد منيف العايدي، تابع نزار دراسته في جامعة دمشق في كلية الحقوق.
عمل نزار في السلك الدبلوماسي السوري من عام 1945 حتى عام 1966، بينما تبقى أعماله الشعرية هي البصمة الأهم في تاريخ الأدب العربي والعالمي وله العديد من الدواوين الشعرية منها: “كتاب الحب”، و”مئة رسالة حب”، و”قصائد متوحشة”، و”أشعار خارجة عن القانون”، و”إلى بيروت الأنثى، مع حبي”، و”أشهد أن لا امرأة إلا أنت” و” كل عام وأنت حبيبتي”. توفي في لندن في 30 نيسان عام 1998 ودفن في دمشق.
