Download the Tallinja App to upgrade your experience of the public transport service in Malta.Welcome to the Tallinja App. With the Tallinja App, you will enjoy all the benefits of Malta Public Transport by travelling more affordably and sustainably.
The Tallinja App has many functions that will make your day-to-day journeys easier while combining all transport services offered by Malta Public Transport:
Real-time information: Locate your nearest bus stop on the map and check all available bus routes to your chosen destination. Real-time information can be accessed by tapping on your nearest bus stop.
Real-time bus tracking: Follow your bus in real-time while you are waiting at the bus stop. Once you tap on your nearest bus stop, choose “Show buses on the map in real-time” to locate on the map the bus you are waiting for.
My Cards: In this section, you can add, manage, and keep track of several payment methods. Additionally, you can connect your personalised Tallinja Card or Flex Card with the Tallinja App. This will enable you to view your transaction history, pay for any Tallinja On Demand bookings, and check for any new travel offers.
The Journey Planner: Plan your bus trips by choosing your departure location and your destination. The journey planner will suggest various bus routes for you to choose from.
On Demand: Tallinja On Demand is a public transport on-demand service. In this section, you can book a seat on one of our premium buses. Simply choose from which bus stop you would like to be picked up and from which bus stop you would like to be dropped off.
Airport Shuttle: Malta Transfer is an official shuttle service of Malta International Airport. You can book your transport from the airport to various hotels in Malta and back through the Tallinja App. Malta Transfer extends its services to the cruise liner terminal in Valletta.
Favourites: Create your favourites list by clicking on the heart icon on the map view, including your most visited destinations or the bus stops or bus routes you use regularly.
Service Update: Check the map for caution signs that indicate alerts or service disruptions. Simply click on the alert tag to access detailed information about the service update. This feature ensures that you are aware of any changes that may affect your journey. Also, you can receive push notifications on service alerts happening on your saved favourite routes and bus stops. This way, you can plan your trips more effectively and stay up-to-date with any disruptions on your preferred routes.

1 ★I have updated my Tallinja App and unfortunately I would like to point out that you have replaced a previously working app with a useless one. First thing I noted was that when I updated the app all my favorite bus stops disappeared. Then I started adding them up and the app will give an error message and does not keep the saved bus stops. I also added a credit card to the app and the €1 charge taken for validating the card was never refunded as promised in the APP.
4 ★Room for improvement, but it's great to grab your phone, tap a few times, and see when the next bus is coming. I would recommend maybe a smoother UI, but that's optional, and possibly a way for drivers to mark if a bus is full so we passengers don't wait for a bus we can't ride
4 ★Not a bad app. Improvements: Include up to the minute bus timings. They do run late. Include a downloadable bus routes map. From a bus stop see the routes available from that stop on a map. I couldn't find Garcin bus stop yesterday. It was not there on the ground. Either take it out of the mapping or put in a bus stop.
4 ★Very good app for those savvy enough to be able to actuality work it, its not complicated. Easy to navigate with maps of routes and the next bus feature is very good and helpful particularly when at a bus stop. The journey planner is really good and a great way of planning your journey. Not the fault of the app however it get frustrating when you track a bus and it show arriving in less than 2 minutes and it never actually arrives. A button to report failed to appear busses would be good.
1 ★Completely useless, we've witnessed already 5 cases of a bus skipping their stop in 5 days since we landed in Malta. If you need to move around in Malta and you don't want/cannot rent a car or hire a cab, you're better off not visiting Malta altogether. Buying bus tickets is a waste of money.
1 ★This app is simply dire and does not work correctly. On creating an account it gets stuck on the password box and if you make it past that point, the app wont send a text to my correct telephone number. There is no way to setup an account on the website, so I am stuck. The previous app (whilst buggy), did work in a fashon.
1 ★It keeps popping up empty boxes whenever i try to plan a journey. The app crashes way too much. It requires a payment method even when payment is not needed. Theres no way to check balance. The map can not be viewed in satellite mode.
2 ★Not reliable - may not necesarily be a problem with the programming. The buses just don't always arrive when they are supposed to. Sometimes they don't arrive at all. Sometimes they do arrive so you can't even rely on them NOT to come. All very confusing.
1 ★a lot of times the live updates do not show buses that are passing. do not trust the live updates. the app is not able to detect your location therefor I cannot use neither "Journey planner" nor "my next bus" functions. my recommendation... use Google Maps as it has better functions however it does not have live updates either. but it shows all expected buses according to planned routes it is often accurate except that it does not account for delays or buses that the company cancels without warn
4 ★i have been using the app for a while and attended also focus group. the app unfortunately lost it's great feature to Search for location on my next bus option. it's easier to navigate the map than before but the search ootion was great. mynextbus ootion was indicate when there's diversion on the route. this should be linked to Service Updates. Also there must be a notification when a service is cancelled. when bus service The TDplus is great though the time choice is somewhat misleading.
3 ★Generally good and handy. But there was a Sat when I looked up the schedules on Journey Planner, it displayed the departure and arrival times without the bus route number and I thought it was some display error. Only to find out the time I searched has passed the last bus and we missed it and had to find a night bus back (lucky enough there was one)! The following Sun the Journey Planning part was completely down, only showed no search result no matter what I input.
1 ★Perfect idea, but poor realisation, leaving the feeling of the worst application. Constantly crashes and says: "To continue try to reload the application". For how long to try to reload application??? Is it for real that this application must be 101% dependant on an API? If API crashed, why I cannot see static data such as bus routes and time tables?! Did you ever heard about caching / local storage? I am wondering who can't become a programer these days and publish an app to play store...
