Description
Această versiune a Bibliei reprezintă integral si nemodificat textul biblic revizuit de Mitropolitul Bartolomeu și aprobat de către Sfântul Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române.Limba română a acestei ediții este cea mai limpede si mai adecvată pentru un cititor modern, care nu are mereu acces la subtilitatile teologice si filologice ale Bibliei.
„M-am hotărât ca întreaga lucrare să apară sub semnul diortosirii - mărturiseşte autorul - iar aceasta nu neapărat din modestie, ci din rigoare ştiinţifică şi probitate morală. Originalitatea cu orice preţ implică riscul desfigurării”. Şi tot el ne dă şi explicaţia: „Hotarul dintre traducere şi diortosire e uneori extrem de subţire. Traducerea este aflarea unei echivalenţe absolut noi a textului original, pe când diortosirea nu e mai mult decât o îndreptare operată în textul dat (o actualizare lexicală şi gramaticală, o modernizare în conţinut şi formă - n.n.). În cazul meu, textul din Matei 1,2 este o traducere, dar cel din Ioan 1,1 - o diortosire”.
În ajunul Crăciunului anului 1990, a început munca de diortosire (revizuire) a Bibliei, începând cu textul Noului Testament, acțiune extinsă ulterior asupra întregii Sfintei Scripturi, pe o perioadă de unsprezece ani. A fost publicată în 2001.
