A photo widget that supports semi-transparency and optional frame of any color
Features:

How to use:
This is a widget for your homescreen (desktop). To use it, please follow these simple steps.
For newer versions of Android (e.g. 4.0), you may drag and drop a Nice Simple Photo item from the Widgets tab of your app list to the home screen. You may refer to this demonstration video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXAWx7gsJ-o
For older versions (e.g. 2.3.3) you can long press (i.e. tap and hold) on any empty space on your home screen, then select Widgets and choose a Nice Simple Photo item.
Different items correspond to different widget sizes.
Tapping the widget will open the configuration screen. You can configure the widget and browse the photos which are in the same directory of the currently selected photo there. You can add more than one "Nice Simple Photo Widget" to your home screen and each of them can have its own unique appearance settings.
*NOTE* If the photo does not update properly, please exclude this widget from any task killer app that you might be using. You can also try to remove this widget from your homescreen and add it back again, and see if it solves the problem.

4 ★I love this app so much it does exactly what I want it to, which is circulate through selected photos to display on my home screen. But it eats through my battery life.
3 ★Something has changed, and now the words click to set up are stuck in the middle of my page, after no problem for over 2 years. My picture is where itvwas always been, I haven't changed anything, nor tried to place a different picture. I want the dumb words off the middle of my screen. I may have to delete app to accomplish that. I need a remedy!

1 ★Worked fine through three photos then just stopped working. I did everything I could to set a photo and just got a widget saying something like "Click here to set photo". Had to delete.
5 ★Truly Nice and Truly Simple. This app is nice because it does just what is supposed to. It's like setting down the photo of your choice in a frame on your home screen. The settings are user friendly with several viewing options, opacity settings, frame settings and more. This app is simple because it is easy to use and set to your liking and there are NO ADS. Ever. This is a quality I do really appreciate with more and more apps that seem to be 90% advertising and 10% app.
1 ★Had this widget for yrs now. Loved it. Does what it says it does. But all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore!!! I can go through all the settings, choose my pic and when I look at the widget it's empty like I haven't done anything!!! It still says "click me to set up" What happened? Please fix this for me.
3 ★Was great on my Samsung phones but not on my OnePlus7 pro. Photos go invisible everytime my screen goes off although the widget remains in place. I have to touch the widget and go through the settings to "wake it up". I use this as a quick mini portfolio of my work to show clients so it's embarrassing when I have to mess with it to get the photos to display. Please fix so I can continue to use.

1 ★This has been my "go-to" photo widget for years, but with the latest update to Android, it no longer works properly. The pictures keep Dissappearing, which is the only purpose of the app (to display photos). Please update this app so it can remain one of my favorites and I can return it to 5 stars where it belongs! 😁
2 ★It worked perfectly until I updated the app. Now every time I leave an app, they disappear and don't come back. I have to go in and redo them.
5 ★Still works great on Android 8 Oreo. It might look outdated, but it's polished, and once you have the widget set up, you won't have to touch it. It shows either a static photo or a slideshow of all image files from a folder (with or without subfolders), and you can set the change rate. Like the title says, nice and simple. I don't know how well it well it works on newer versions of Android.
