Well guess what – Patook is an app strictly for friendships. So strictly in fact, that we have developed our own automatic method to detect when someone is flirting. We’ve even included a no-flirting clause in our terms of service so we ban such users. Any person who attempts to flirt via the app will get their account permanently banned before their message even makes it into your inbox.
The result? Women, men, couples and others on this app have the same goal and the same expectations.
If you’re on Patook, it’s to make great platonic friends. Period.
If that’s not enough to sway you, Patook has proprietary methods that match you to people who are similar to you. That means people who like the same things, and also dislike the same things. It calculates a point score for each user and tells you how compatible you are with them. So, instead of picking your “friends” based on giant pictures of them, you actually look through shared interests and pick which interests you care the most about.
Want even more control? Want to find a friend who speaks French, plays the violin, likes the same shows you do? Patook's point system allows you to give out points for traits you like, and then each user gets a little score shown next to their name.

* The matches tab shows you nearby users who you have a good chance of getting along with. Patook is centered around connecting compatible people together. The score shown on the top right is the result of your point system.
* The discussions tab acts as a local bulletin board where user can post various topics, discussions, jokes or rants. Discussions are visible to everyone within your area, so by posting to them you are effectively broadcasting messages to the neighborhood. People can then upvote and respond to the topics and the most interesting topics get surfaced. This helps kickstart conversations between people.
* The point system gives users more control in finding compatible users. For example, you can give 20 points to women, 10 points to people who speak French, and 20 points who are originally from the United States. The point count shows up next to the user's names.
* You can log in with Facebook to speed things up, but you don’t have to.
* Patook takes security and privacy very seriously. We have made as many privacy options as we could think of available. Our moderators are also happy to respond to any feedback from you.

1 ★This app deletes conversations and connections for no reason. There is no explanation given. Just suddenly it's gone. Defeats the entire purpose of the app.
4 ★Please improve the texting interface folks. The app has a lot of potential. (If you want to know the specific issues please right back to me I'd like to help in whatever way possible).
1 ★I was using it fine until I Factory Reset my device and now it won't let me log in. I've contacted support and nothing so far (2 years now) . Such a shame, I was talking to some really nice people. Guess that's what I get for using an app with features from the 80s that doesn't even connect to your email or Google account for login... I will never recommend or trust Patook again. But in theory, in concept, it's a good app. It's just very sloppily built. It's been years since it was stable.
5 ★Well-built app. Offers a TON of customization and actually shows you what about a person's profile matches with your preferences. I've met 4 or 5 people so far and hope to keep talking to them! The only thing you'll have to get used to is the terminology. Being structured like a dating app, you'd think the term 'match' means someone who liked you back. It actually is just a 'match' to your preferences, someone who scores high. There is an accessible help menu I had to use twice to figure out.
1 ★They delete your friends + chats. With no warning. There was no flirting whatsoever. Just talking about housing prices. Bam, removed. Dumb system. I know they didn't delete/block me either because we were talking on Instagram as well. They asked ME if I had blocked them. What is going on with this app? It's actually trying to destroy connections rather than create them.
5 ★Awesome app. I think it needs to get noticed more, not enough local people to talk to. But altogether, a great app
1 ★Hard pass. This friend app is very similar to dating apps, in which either no one replies or barely uses it. The only pro of this app is that it's completely free to use. Verification is a complete joke. To make things worse, it will auto delete your conversations and block you if it suspects any messages that go against the rules. It's all automated so you can't control anything. If you are serious about meeting someone, you'll have better luck IRL.

5 ★This is a really excellent app if you are truly looking for a friendship. It still does take time to meet that person you click with, and some users don't respond but all-in all with its simplicity to use, you can chat without people making unconfotrable passes at you. We need more apps like this one.
2 ★This is EXACTLY the app I was looking for! Finally, no overbearing messages from guys wanting to date or dating algorithms. It's simply people wanting platonic friendships! The app strictly forbids flirting and has the ability to verify you! Downside: Not a ton of users-Swipe system could ve improved-Not a lot of users in my area. Update: Will not connect to server or send or receive messages...or load at all :(

4 ★Great app! it enables users to fill profiles with detailed questionnaire on different aspects of personality and preferences then matches the results with other users from a good size base. I actually noticed that some people were compatible with me but didn't show at the results.I knew about them from another feature in the app..the activities feature..also when I change some settings relating to the matching preferences some results dissappear which shouldn't. Still highly recommended
