Mindfulness bell and meditation timer for your practice of mindfulness
MindBell rings periodically during the day as a mindfulness bell, to give you the opportunity to hold on for a moment and consider what you are currently doing, and in what state of mind you are while you are doing it. According to the Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, this is an effective means of developing mindfulness.
Additionally MindBell can be used as a meditation timer.
Without advertising and without any network access.

FAQ
Find answers to frequently asked questions at: https://dknapps.de/mindbell/
MindBell does not remind regularly?
Please follow this checklist: https://dknapps.de/mindbell-notringing/
Missing reminder notifications? Annoyed by permanent notification? Regarding the newest version 3.6.0: Yes, reminder notifications have been removed in favor of a permanent notification. I hope this permant notification helps to overcome the battery optimization issues on devices that do not adhere to Android standards. If you don't like the permanent notification you can disable it: Swipe the notification to the left, click on the gear wheel and switch off the keep-alive notification.
Known device dependend issues
On devices of some brands (e.g. Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi) MindBell stops to remind after a while. You have to exclude MindBell from battery optimzation on such devices. For more details please take a look at: https://www.dknapps.de/mindbell-notringing/#power-saver
On devices of some brands (e.g. LG, Samsung) the option ‘Pause audio on sound’ prevents MindBell from playing any sound. This option has to be disabled on such devices.

Permissions
FOREGROUND_SERVICE (as of version 3.6.0): To avoid battery optimization issues MindBell uses a foreground service bound to a keep-alive notification.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (as of version 3.2.5): To access the system sound you want to use as reminder sound (and copied before to 'Notifications' folder of your internal storage).
READ_PHONE_STATE (read phone status and identity): To modify the bell in the notification bar when phone status changes (phone call, flight mode, muted), if requested in the settings. MindBell only needs this permission to get signalled when a phone call is incoming or outgoing, not to read any data.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (run at startup): To activate MindBell after restarting the phone.
VIBRATE (control vibration): To use vibration as mindfulness bell, if requested in the settings.

Questions & Answers
Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
