Transit Tracker - NYC also includes the ability to download route schedules.
Transit Tracker - NYC allows you to define alerts for MTA routes and stops; get a notification when a vehicle on a specific route is approaching or arriving at a particular stop.

TRACKING
Put in one or more route numbers, separated by spaces or commas, and see all vehicles on those routes, put in a stop number to see all buses serving that stop, or put in an individual vehicle number (printed on the side of MTA buses).
ROUTE SCHEDULES
- You can request a route schedule for any MTA route by entering its number. Schedules can be viewed as origin/destination tables or on a map. On the map, see when the next bus/train is scheduled to arrive by tapping on a stop. See all times for that stop by tapping on the info window that appears.
CLOSE STOPS
- Select your current location or an address you enter or select on a map as a search location for MTA stops that are nearby. You can specify a maximum number of stops to return as well as an optional route filter.
ALERTS
- You can define alerts for when a MTA vehicle is approaching or arriving at a particular stop. These alerts are based on distance from the stop, using the shape of the route defined by MTA.
- Because these alerts depend on the vehicle following the shape defined by MTA, if the vehicle is on detour, or if the vehicle isn't following the defined route for some other reason, your alert may not trigger as expected.
Other features:
- Choose a light or dark theme.
- Show satellite imagery and/or color-coded traffic data on the map.
- Optionally keep the map screen from dimming and shutting off.
- Adjust the update interval of MTA vehicle locations.
- Choose a custom ringtone for alerts.

4 ★Works great. Very reliable.
5 ★Best MTA bus app there is on the market. It shows the routes for the MTA buses and follows the bus along the route so you know where it is. The developer updates the maps/schedules very often so you always have the most up to date information. Also, the customer service is fantastic. I had a small issue with the app one night and contacted the developer. Within the hour I received a response and the issue was fixed the next morning. Must download if you use the MTA buses!

5 ★I have tried other apps that they claim they track MTA buses, but they all disappointed me with their poor design and functionality. Although this app still has things to improve, it is so far obviously the best MTA bus time app. At least, this one has a history/favorite list, a map with moving buses on it, alert that works and full support in five boroughs. Most impressively, the author updates this app frequently and keeps making it better. Thank you for making it free.

4 ★The UI took a little getting used to at first and often it loads slowly on my phone, especially: when selecting a few items from the menu, it takes about 5 seconds. But the app works, and it works very well. If you love or want more BusTime, this free app is a must-have! My favorite feature is that you can create your own alerts to when a bus is arriving at stops. Also of course the map is very useful. I once helped someone on a bus telling her where to get off by using this app, at home.
5 ★If you take the NYC MTA Buses, then you must have this app. It's very easy to look at and there are quite a few options. Being able to overlay the map with traffic data is also great to see the conditions you're dealing with. Track buses, track stations, alerts, the ability to share your bus location - it even gives you the physical bus number (4 digit number). The one suggestion I have now (and it's not a crucial one by any means) is if it's possible to put the bus route number on the graphic icon - perhaps under the directional arrow - when you are tracking a station so you can see which bus is next without have to touch each bus icon. Not very essential, but a nice to have. Great work.. I just purchased the paid version of the app and will post this review there as well! Support the developer!
5 ★Really convenient, I use it every morning. The times are really accurate. I believe this is the only APP that uses the mta tracker. You can select your routes and save them for later. I highly recommend this app if you take the commute, daily or not.
5 ★Great app that utilizes the MTA new GPS technology perfectly. Also try some color coding everything grey just becomes one big blur. Blue for bus stops, green for inbound red for outbound. Also arrows depicting direction of the bus would be a plus! Great job!
5 ★I must say it's a very versatile application for anyone who uses MTA buses on a daily basis, can track using bus route, vehicle number and bus stop ID. the only thing i don't really like is the outbound/inbound feature which is suppose to tell the direction of the buses. I would rather see the terminal used such as, Toward Elmhurst or Toward Jamaica etc. Other than that, great app!
5 ★This app works beautifully and is generally pretty accurate. The MTA has fully implemented GPS technology on all of its bus routes in NYC, enhancing the usefulness of this app. A must have for NYC bus riders!
