CAUTION: THIS APP IS EXPERIMENTAL AND FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLYPhysPhone is an app designed to measure physiological activity analyzing the way the tissue absorbs light. We are currently studying whether these measurements can be used as an index of brain activity.
How to use PhysPhone:
1.Start the app. Your camera light will immediatley turn on and a feed from your phone's camera should be displayed on screen.
2.Note the "stream ID" at the top of the screen. If your phone has a network connection, the average RGB RED VALUE of the camera's field of view will be streamed. You can accsess this stream by going to http://biostream-1024.appspot.com/get?stream=, where x is the displayed stream ID.
3. You can pause and restart recording by tapping the screen.
This version of PhysPhone is designed for use with an oddball task (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oddball_paradigm) and generates high and pitched tones at regular intervals. If these are not needed, simply turn the "media volume" to zero.
