Description

Frustrated by the glyph game in Ingress? Get some practice and build up your muscle memory! This is a practice application to help you with the Shaper Glyph minigame in Ingress.

This app is not affiliated with Niantic Labs. Glyph designs property of Niantic Labs.

Remember that some Glyphs have multiple translations. As far as we know, all of the glyphs that appear in Ingress are now in this app, and we are working on adding more sequences. See the link below to help contribute.

How to install Glypher APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download Glypher APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

Update Phone Settings

Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK

Go to Downloads

Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.dmidroid.ingress.glyphs-v1.14-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

5 ★Simple

5 ★This app pushes your skills in a couple of different ways to memorize the shaper glyphs. At first I was making up my own words for them, but then I'd get all muddled up. This teaches the true meanings as you go, helping to strengthen your memory and make your speed faster. Truly the best app out there for this reason.

5 ★[Redacted] Don't seem to have freezing issues now. Very helpful, once you find the right combination of settings. I recommend the "Single random glyph" mode, unchecking "Show glyph before drawing", checking "First reminder is a hint", and unchecking "New glyph on failure." For newbies like me this is the best configuration to memorize individual glyph names. I've made huge strides in only two days. Would love to see reverse mode, which shows glyphs and makes you guess the name. This would require a very fast and intuitive name selector, so as not to be tedious.

3 ★Does a pretty good job mixing up the glyphs. A couple of the glyphs do not register correctly that you have done properly. (Imperfect) Other than that does what it says. I suggest getting practice out your with hacking skills

5 ★Great app for flexing your muscle memory so you can achieve your Translator badge quickly. I use it often when I find myself stuck somewhere and unable to reach any portals with my scanner. It also has helped me learn and memorize several glyphs and their meanings.

5 ★Glypher has really improved my glyphing skill. When I first encountered glyphing, I was a mess. After using glypher for only a day or two, my glyph hit rate increased dramatically. I got a Translator badge very quickly.

4 ★The response time on the touch is a little slow sometimes and "imperfect" isn't recognized when input. It's missing some glyphs like "intelligence" and "technology". Good job on everything else.

3 ★It needs a flash card option. When glyphing in Ingress you need to recall a word based on a glyph. This game tries to teach you to recall the glyph based on the word...opposite of the game. Once you have learned some glyphs though, the simulator can help reinforce them.

3 ★Sure, it's useful but I loath the horrible click and drag line that follows. It's so unnatural and doesn't feel at all like glyphing.

2 ★Keep missing points because unless you are really careful the accuracy is too high, this causes you to be slow. Not a good simulation of ingress glyphs.

4 ★I would love to see an update that allows practicing on subsets of the Glyph symbol library in order to improve recall specifically on symbols I have trouble with. Thank you for this great app!

4 ★Very easy to use. Would be better if possible to set the length of sequence. Gets lots of 5 glyphs seq when choosing normal while I never encounted > 3 glyphs when hacking so far (lvl5~8).
