1 ★If I could give this app a 0 I would. It was was really good, but now it has gone down hill. You can't find anything of the information I had saved so all my hard work is lost. When I try to relocate what I had previously found it keeps taking me back to the state that I am in, not the state I am researching. I thought the purpose of this was to be able to research other state information. It is like all the research that everyone had placed on the app for users to find has been lost. Grrr
1 ★This app is HORRIBLY designed! It's almost unusable! Has no logic which is easily recognizable and is NOT intuitive! I wanted to enter the GPS coordinates of a gravesite and it took my phone's current coordinates and has no way to edit them manually. It's nice that it's set up for entry right at the gravesite but to find a grave in the app (which is required first) to enter information for is so difficult and time consuming, it's not at all functionally useable when visiting lots of gravesites.
4 ★Good mobile app for the extremely useful website Useful to have on your phone if you're going to be touring cemeteries. MAJOR missing thing is that on the Cemetery Info page, the text notes about that cemetery, that are really helpful on the website, don't show on the app. That really needs to be added. There's a lot of 'catchup" to be done on the GPS bit, I like that GPS can be added to the existing photos. Improvement would be a separate "update the cemetery" utility that would support the action of walking the cemetery and finding and marking the headstones as we go.
5 ★Continues to be a great source of information to build my "tree". The network of volunteers who work to add sites and complete records by adding photos, even by request, are amazing. Easy to use and able to save findings in your own "virtal" cemeteries. Great app!
1 ★So before the app was updated to this new version, it was a lot easier to use and also showed photos of the grave stones, and allowed you to leave flowers with comments, and be able to submit corrections, also add new photos- now the app is showing names of the family but you don't know they are links until you try to click on them - please restore to the old look and function it use to have or do an update that makes the app more user friendly, also big issue of why does it not show birth names married names are not helpful when building a family tree, we know they got married when it says hey this is the husband or wife! Please make the next update count! Thank you Tori
1 ★If you search for cemetaries in an area, say Philadelphia, PA, the app shows you a map of that area with a bunch of headstones on it representing cemeteries. There is no discernable way to get a list, and if you zoom and zoom in on the map, you can see all the nice landmarks and even where the bus stops are - but no cemetary names. Useless.
1 ★I used to love this app, but it's nit working right anymore. It will only show one Cemetery in the map area. The most recent one I searched even though there are at least 20 between my location and that one. Im sitting at one of the largest cemeteries in the county and nothing shows up. So disappointing.
1 ★As of todays...their so called "fix" is saying nothing but error loading. Before they did the "fix" it worked fine. At moment no stars rating. If they fix it..then I may change my mind.
4 ★I like this app but I find it difficult to suggest edits to information, like you can on the website. It would also be helpful if FindAGrave could provide a "directory listing" to people who don't have a profile set up. Because of limited knowledge family member's whereabouts. Living family can manually create a profile with the experience of creating one, while others provide a picture of headstones to contribute. FindAGave and Ancestry should collaborate with each other to share info.
1 ★I really wish this app would work!! Just updated and now it want do anything! Home screen is all jumbled up with writing on top of writing. Nothing I click opens anything. Nothing happens when clicking the search. Trying to locate a cemetery for a friend... finally just gave up.
3 ★Since update in December 2019 app now requires that I turn on GPS location with no option to not do so. Update Jan 2020: the gps issue is fixed! I've found a new bug though, it appears that all graves are being marked as having no GPS in the virtual cemeteries page, even if the grave has gps coordinates.
3 ★App no longer provides my exact location when searching for cemetaries near me. Prior version showed my location by small black dot. This makes finding a cemetary very difficult in areas where we do not know the roads. I reported this previously. All permission provided on my android... still waiting for this fix... we tour cemetaries when traveling and the inability to see our exact location relative to the cemetaries is very frustrating...it is August and still waiting ...
