5 ★I've lost 15 pounds in less than a month using Noom, at a point where I thought it was impossible to go anywhere but into "cascade failure" with regards to my health. The application makes it very easy to recognize a healthy balance in your food choices, and actually enjoy eating more, but also the psych tricks can be used to address any aspect of your life in which you have doubts of seeing positive change. And you get oodles of support from a Coach and your fellow "NoomNerds."
5 ★Early days, but I'm liking this approach to weight loss. For me, much preferable to real life classes, which I hate. Noom consults you as you go as to how you want to approach things, and sends daily stuff to help you make good choices. I don't feel judged or preached at, or despaired of, or laughed at. This matters. I'm hoping/planning to continue losing weight quietly, slowly but steadily, and to be able to stay there with new awareness and skills. Ask me again in six months time.
4 ★I have been using the Noom app for about 3 weeks now and overall I am happy with the content, and the level of support it gives my weight loss journey. The one drawback for me is the food tracker option, as the calories are not accurate for the majority of food I enter. For example, it will give a completely different calories reading for a food item such as 5% fat minced beef than the calorie content given on the package. This can be quite frustrating when logging every meal.
3 ★Good in principle but not sure it's value for money for what it is and find the app to be quite buggy. Also, feels very geared toward women, which is fine of course but when it comes to inspiring stories of success, imagery used in the app, coaches available and the groups they assign you too I did feel that this is aimed with a particular demographic in mind. Will keep using since I've paid up for it but won't be renewing.
2 ★Meh. I like the psychology aspect of this app. However, the free two weeks was better. Once I paid for the two months, the narration ended. And the support group/person doesn't exist. I have lost weight so I'm not mad. The food logging is not nearly as good as My Fitness Pal. I probably won't renew as I think there is a lot of false advertising with this app.
3 ★I love the green/yellow /red categories. Learned almost nothing on the lessons, learned a lot from the color breakdown. Never went past the trial period, as the app did not allow for recording your own recipes - you can enter calorie count, that's it. Not even in the premium version. Big deal breaker for me. Switched to MyFitnessPal which isn't as good at tracking types of food, but allows easy import of recipes.
3 ★The lessons Noom teaches actually help. There are several reasons for the 3 star review. The food data base sucks. It has soooo many errors. The calorie counts are only accurate maybe 50% of the time and never seem to get corrected. I also have not gotten the message that I finished my tasks for the day for weeks because my step count is listed twice! Only one of them registers my steps while the other stays at zero. It is very frustrating! The advice from customer service reps doesn't help.
3 ★I'm still in my 2 week trial but I am finding little things annoying. When I scan foods, the nutritional values rarely match so I end up having to tweak the weight to fit the calories. I can't build recipes (please correct me if I'm wrong but I cannot find how - you can on an iPhone I believe), this is a deal breaker for me. I cook from scratch for a family, not single portions - MyFitnessPal is so much better for this. I am undecided whether to carry on after the 2 weeks or go back to MFP.
1 ★Noom claims that they help fit losing weight and feeling better about yourself into your schedule, or so I've heard. I'm not allowed to get a subscription because there isn't a cost friendly option. When I was looking into subscribing, I was EXTREMELY excited and motived until i found out I have to spend $179 all at once. The site literally says, "$179 (which equals about $5.19 a week)" I'd be willing to pay $20 every 2 weeks to have this opportunity!! But poor people don't get to feel good!!
4 ★Great content, knowlege, and coaching. The only issues I've had are mainly with the step counting. The step counter doesn't work well with my device, so I do frequently have to correct the step count (it doesn't count all my steps). Also, it takes a while for the server to assess a workout/activity in terms of increasing calorie allowance, and there's some overlap there with the step count.
1 ★I couldn't even get setup. I tried 3 times to get started but it kept telling me to check my internet connection but my WiFi is just fine. I would cruise along through the questionnaire and it would just show the error randomly. After it would show that message, it would throw me all the way back to the beginning again. Total waste of time and not to mention you lost a customer...
4 ★I'm only 1 week in but so far I love it! I love that it breaks things down in simple terms. I like the daily articles. It keeps me mindful of my mission & helps me look a little deeper into the "why's" of how I eat. It helps me get & stay on track. 7/5/21 I have taken 1 star away because of a few technical bugs that I've come across. The program is outstanding though! I've lost 30 lbs. since starting on April 5th.
