Description

DESCRIPTION
Speed Adviser is a driver's aid designed to reduce speeding and save lives in NSW. Using the GPS capability of your phone, the Speed Adviser app monitors your location and speed, and alerts you via visual and audible warnings if you exceed the speed limit. Speed Adviser is for NSW roads only.

NEVER BE UNSURE OF THE SPEED LIMIT AGAIN
Speed Adviser displays the speed limit for the road you are travelling on. Speed Adviser knows the speed limit on all roads in NSW, including all school zones and their operating hours. The app uses the latest speed zone data.

DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLATION
You can install Speed Adviser using the Play Store app on your phone (called “Market” on older phones), or by accessing the Google Play website on your computer. Generally, Speed Adviser will not download to your phone until it has been connected to a WiFi network. Be aware that it will probably cost you more to download the app over a mobile phone network than by WiFi.

BE NOTIFIED OF SPEED LIMIT CHANGES
You can nominate how Speed Adviser tells you of a change in the speed limit. You can elect to have the new speed limit spoken in a male or female voice, to hear a simple sound effect, or to disable all audio alerts entirely and rely on the visual alert (speed limit symbol with a flashing yellow background).

TOO FAST!
Speed Adviser will play an audible alert and a visual alert if you are speeding, to remind you to keep safely within the sign posted speed limit. If you continue to exceed the speed limit, Speed Adviser will repeat the audible and visual alerts.

SCHOOL ZONES
Always know when a school zone is active. Speed Adviser knows where and when every school zone in NSW operates, including gazetted school days and non-standard school times. Speed Adviser lets you know if the school zone is active and will display the speed limit of 40 km/h.

NIGHT DRIVING
Speed Adviser uses an internal database of sunrise and sunset times to automatically switch between day and night modes. The night mode emits less light, and so reduces eye strain while driving. Speed Advisor also automatically saves your preferred brightness setting.

RUN OTHER APPS AT THE SAME TIME
Audible alerts from Speed Adviser still play when the app is running in the background. This means you can have other apps operating and still hear announcements and warnings from Speed Adviser.

L PLATE AND P PLATE DRIVERS
Learner and Provisional (‘P1 and P2’) drivers are not permitted to use this app.

WARNINGS
You must comply with the NSW Road Rules and not use the app or your smartphone in any manner contrary to the Road Rules.
Always have your phone in a commercial phone mount when using a driver’s aid such as Speed Adviser, in accordance with the NSW Road Rules, and ensure your phone does not obscure your view of the roadway.

Because it takes a lot of power to run the GPS hardware in your phone, and to reduce battery drain on your phone, you should use your car’s power socket while operating Speed Adviser. Also, you should always shut down the app when you are finished driving.

PRIVACY
Speed Adviser does not collect data or report speeding events to Transport for NSW or any other organisation or agency.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

5 ★Norwest train station is 70k i/o 50k
4 ★Good application. One suggestion please: A customisable Widget with features that we are able to use directly from it (adjust the volume, brightness, background, alert voice, OFF button...etc...) thanks a billion guys.
2 ★I can't find any explanation (anywhere) about the "Audio Alert Output Mode" setting. (Options: "Music (Default)" or "Voice Call") What does this do? I don't want to play with it while driving to work it out by myself.
2 ★When you consider the amount of money and effort Transport for NSW puts intto locating and fining otherwise responsible drivers who accidentally drift a few kilometres over the speed limt and then compare that to the amount of money and effort spent on this app that would help said motorists avoid these unfortunate errors, it is not hard to see where Transport for NSW priorities lie. Revenue first. Every time. Is it too much to keep the speed zones updated?
5 ★Great free app. Accurate school zone warnings.
2 ★More a verbal distraction than an aid - on a 12km stretch of B78 Armidale, it warned about 7-8 different camera zones, some of which it would be improbable (and against the NSW location guidelines) that a zone could be set up, let alone active, without encroaching onto the road surface, including extensive windy sections. Also, warns of road speed sign changes where old locations (80/50kmh change at edge of Armidale) were declared. Looks like an old database use in use. Removed the app.
3 ★Speed limits incorrect too often. Especially on Pacific hwy between Qld border to Sydney. Too many places to mention. Mostly says 100 instead of 110 and it doesn't provide actual speed. The most obvious requirement. Needs a temporary silence button to deal with constant speed reminders when it is 'mis-firing' minimal customisation.
1 ★Rubbish app. Alerts start going off if your just 2 klms over the speed limit, really? ...plus it totally killed the battery. Alerts for speed zone changes only would be good. App uninstalled
1 ★Found the App impractical. No integration to Android auto or maps. Really needs to integrate to auto systems and maps. Also found to be inaccurate around speed limits. Current speed also needs to be integrated.
1 ★how do I use gps ? there should be gps options with speed advisor in a corner
