Q: What is an APK File?

1 ★Not at all user friendly. You'll find many difficulties while using the app.
1 ★App needs much improvement. Just scrolling the paper gives the ultimate worse jitters which is jarring. We cannot read it in full screen as the top bar is still visible. Lots of other UI improvements needed. Overall UI UX people of this app should be fired and hire some one else. Developer response that they are working on better version. My response: I have been using this for more than a year. The issue is there since long time. And no improvement. Unless team is changed, no expectation.
1 ★Terrible app! 1. App doesn't load most of the times. Haven't been able to access since 4 days now! 2. Not all articles/ads can be maximised to (One is stuck with small fonts unless manually zoomed.) 3. Attempts to scroll ends up in flickering & takes one to the top/bottom of the article. 4. Right swiping to access next article is not sequential & skips 30-40% of the content. How does The Hindu expect us to use it? Stop scamming readers with such pathetic service.
2 ★Reducing to 2 stars. Every alternate day it says 'No Internet Connection' and I have reinstall the app. Don't think I'll renew my epaper subscription because this app is bad. The app was great but in the past couple of days it keeps telling me to subscribe again. I'm still able to read the paper on my desktop though and I have s valid subscription.
4 ★Would have rated 4 stars but short of 1 stars due to following reasons: 1. No option of downloading news item as an image like there on web version of newspaper. 2. No option of downloading the entire newspaper as a pdf. 3. No dark mode. Please do introduce dark mode. Most of us get a chance to read newspaper at night. So, that would be a big feature. Rest, app is fantastic.
1 ★I'm a subscriber since 3 months now. 1. The scroll function is not proper it moves randomly. I can't read it properly. 2. Somedays I don't the online edition at all. 3. At times it says no connection while my internet is working fine and that stays the same way for most part of the day. The scrolling is so messed up that I start to count benefits of a hard copy. Please get these issues resolved ASAP.
3 ★When you click on the article to open and read, It rarely works. UI for page downloading is very bad as it doesn't open articles when app shows paper has been completely downloaded. Edit: tap and read function does not work if you have downloaded the paper. If paper isn't downloaded and you are reading online tap and read works fine. Otherwise it will not. Pay attention if you choose "yes, download while reading" when you first time opened the epaper app.
2 ★Hi Team, when I click on the highlighted today's newspaper it is showing a message 'No internet connection' but I have a active internet connection. When I try to read the news paper from previous editions, I couldn't select a particular news and read it specifically in the reading mode. Not sure what is the issue. I have tried logging out & logging in to the app, even I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. But nothing worked kindly check on the active bugs or issues and resolve it ASAP.
1 ★The Interface is terrible! Whenever i try to read an article in full view on my touch screen device, the screen erratically quakes at the slightest touch and throws me at the extreme ends of the article! It is very annoying! I pay for the privelege to use your platform but i am forced to download PDF of the paper instead! The content is really good, but the e-format is the only attraction for an aspirant living in far away towns, which merits an introspection for the design team! Please fix it!!
1 ★Worst app, should invest in making the experience better. Issues. 1. Enough tough i have logged in from my tablet, app doesn't seem to recognise that and keeps asking me to login and purchase a subscription. 2. App doesn't download the edition successfully ever. Download is always stuck in around middle and once screen is off. Download starts all over again. 3. App keeps refreshing even if there 1 min of screen off time. 4. Even tough i have subscribed, app says logged in but no subscription.
5 ★Best epaper app in the app store. 100% worth for a digital subscription. A click on the epaper, makes the news enlarged on a new page, that option makes it more easier to read the news. Hats off to the team for their efforts to bring the epaper reading experience more easier for everyone. (Read Aloud option is missing.. kindly look into it)
2 ★The app is not handy, it hangs alot also it takes times to get it opened at least 7 seconds. It is not even, sometimes it does not open, it just shows The Hindu written but never loads, I have to close it, and reopen, after removing from recent list too it does not work, then I reinstall. I checked whether it happens with me only, I found other apps are working smoothly heavier than this and in others phone also, they noticed same. I never get it at 5 am, and there is no option to refresh also.
