This app uses Accessibility services. Our app offers the use of BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE which can monitor your key presses (KeyEvent) and can open the recent app menu (performGlobalAction) if you enable the service.
Enabling the accessibility service gives us the ability to detect button presses so that you can configure an easier/quicker way to open SLC3. Choosing your own button means that you can pick a more suitable/accessible button to launch SLC3 which may help accommodate you or another persons needs. SLC3 does not collect, store or share any of your personal information and this option has only been implemented to assist users. In certain cases we may also use the performGlobalAction Accessibility Service to open the recent app menu.

4 ★An excellent replacement for the stock Android TV interface. Very clean and, mostly, easy to understand. Works amazingly on my Shield TV. Only reason for the 4 stars is that, I don't know how to get it to launch with the home button on my Chromecast with Google TV and there isn't a clear guide on how to get that to work.

5 ★SCL3 is great at letting me customize and simplify the TV interface. It's made AndroidTV my default tv OS. I have two suggestions that would put me on cloud 9: 1) a different way to reset the pin (today, it's basically just to stop kids, not completely lock down a profile). 2) A "now playing"-type widget so I can see which app is playing audio in the background when I come back to the launcher.
5 ★Sideload Channel Launcher 3 is more of a launcher development kit than just an app. It is infinitely flexible, from the UI to custom actions and a lot more. To get rid of the awful stock UI was enough in itself, but to replace it with something as cool as this is great. Even my wife approves. I did have occasion to contact the developer with a question while I was setting it up. He replied with an answer in about 3 minutes.
5 ★Great and simplistic launcher that does exactly what it should on the TV :D One request though, while I dig the wallaper customization, a Integration to Googles Chromecast Image Library or maybe unsplash would be nicer :)
