商売・金貸し・建築・農業・結婚・育児・戦闘・ダンジョンの冒険が出来る自由さはそのままに、さらに以下のようにパワーアップしました！
・ドット絵をフルリニューアル！解像度が前作から縦横倍となり、クオリティの高いグラフィックを楽しめます。
・王国、共和国などの複数の国が存在し、リアルタイムで戦争します。商人の立場から国家間の争いや政治・経済に介入し、大陸統一を目指します。
・登場キャラ・登場アイテム・トロフィーの数が前作から1.5倍以上に増えました。敵キャラ、ボスキャラのバリエーションは2倍以上に増えています。
・モンスター牧場経営、株、国債、スピードくじ、魚釣り、依頼クエストなどの新要素を追加。
・病院、飲み屋さん、劇場といった新しい建物を建てることができます。
・街の中を人が動き回って生活を送ります。仕事をしたり、飲み屋や劇場で息抜きをしたり。
・前作までの強盗や借金などの問題点を解消し、ゲームバランスを改善しました。
・セーブの高速化や、ゲーム中にスピードを変えられるようにしたり、アイテムを選択しやすくするなど、より快適にプレイできるようにしました。

本作のストーリーは、前作までのストーリーと関連がありますが、本作が初めてでも分かるようになっています。
