3 ★I agree with previous post. I have a new phone and am being promoted to upgrade when I already have a subscription. Webroot is loosing its luster. I've been a loyal customer for many years. Please fix this.
1 ★UPDATE: I contacted customer service almost a week ago. still no response. so aggravating... I have loved this app for years, but I am going to echo all these other complaints. Since the latest update, the app isn't scanning anything at all and is a major drain on my battery. Claims 4 hours and 8 mins of battery usage and has drained me from 100% down to 39%. This is horrendous for a paid service. Will gladly up my rating when fixed, but I'll likely be disabling this for the time being...
1 ★I have been a paying customer for over 5 years. Always loved it. easy and made me feel secure. last update was rough due to battery issues and message stating my last scan "might be out of date ". I just did the update 4/16/2019. STILL SAY my last scan might out of date. Why? The notification is annoying and it has me doubting if the service is protecting me. Please address this.
3 ★Since the last update, the app is not scanning. I have to charge my phone 3-4 x/day but before, every 2 days. I'm considering uninstalling it. UPDATE Webroot released a new build. The battery is lasting longer, but still taking hours to charge and before, less than an hour. The app still doesn't seem to be scanning on my Moto G5 s+. On a Moto g1, it does seem to be scanning now, but is still consuming too much the battery.
2 ★Update 4/18/2019 Tried the updated version released April 16. After 24 hours I checked battery usage and discovered that Webroot used 60% of the battery. Next heaviest draw was only 20%. I had to uninstall again as that is too heavy a drain on my battery. Otherwise it worked well. This is still one of my favorite apps and I would like to use it again. Thanks for the hard work, but it still needs some improvement. Upgraded review to 2 stars. --- Used to be great, then after most recent update it stopped working altogether and made my phone sluggish and drained battery. Had to uninstall - which wasn't easy. Please fix.
1 ★Have used this product for years (paid & free versions)with no issues. How did you get an update so wrong? My phone is virtually unuseable. Overheating & draining battery. I have to turn phone off to charge it. I can't even disable or stop the app now!! Instead of a lame generic apology to every negative review since the last update, why haven't you emailed every customer to advise there is a problem and an ETA for the fix??
1 ★Great, but most recent (Mar.28/19) update ver. 5.5.4.36995 is draining battery at 42% in Android 8.1.0. Not okay. Having to recharge phone twice a day, when usually charge twice a week. Long time customer and product is great for both mobile and pc devices. Would have expected more testing before rolling this out to the masses. EDIT: Called and spoke to a Customer Service retention Manager last week. Was told there might be a fix released this week and that they would contact me. Never did!
1 ★Keeps using up my battery. Have to uninstall and reinstall. Update: 5/15/2020 Just had to Uninstall this software again because of battery drain. Update again: 5/29/2020 another uninstall due to battery drain. This time for good. I'm done with Webroot
1 ★Please fix! I use this on my laptop and phone, and I think it's an excellent program. That said, since the last update, my Pixel 3 is constantly overheating and the battery is drained in no time. I will reinstall once a fix is available.. don't like being without this protection. Can't wait to have access to the new build.
2 ★Review update after app update. Good news is the app works again. It's not unresponsive and unable to scan. Bad news is it still is eating up enormous amounts of battery life. I've had my phone on my 5 hours today, and it ate up 40% of that by itself running in the background. I'm uninstalling again. Used to be a good app, but now it's not worth it. Avoid until they fix it. Issues on Galaxy S8
1 ★App no longer works. It says that scan is out of date. When I click to run the scan it does not do anything for several minutes, say that the scan is complete and quickly gives the scan is out of date notice again. I checked the google app store to see if I have the latest and I do. Also, it's draining the battery rather quickly.
1 ★Severe battery drain. I have this on my cell phone and Samsung tablet. My cell phone battery drains so fast it gets hot and doesn't even last for an 8 hour shift at my job. My tablet has been plugged into the charger for literally days non-stop and the battery has drained down to 75%. My tablet battery never reaches 100% even when I leave it plugged in and alone for days. I used to love this app. Please fix asap.
