OSDI © (ocular surface disease index) es un sencillo test creado para establecer una clasificación del ojo seco según su sintomatología y gravedad. Consiste en 12 preguntas sobre situaciones relacionadas con la sintomatología experimentada por el paciente en la última semana. Al final, se realiza la puntuación del test en función de las respuestas marcadas, y del número de respuestas contestadas por el paciente.
Puntuaciones más altas representan una mayor discapacidad. El índice OSDI © es especifico para diferenciar entre sujetos normales y pacientes con ojo seco.
El diagnostico final debe ser confirmado por un profesional de la visión, y es posible que sean necesarias otras pruebas complementarias.
